Question

Is it possible to code EBT to a CHAMP2 hu without adding any hardware?

Or is it only possible on NBT & CIC-high hu's?

Any idea what section/parameters have the flashing brake option when coding (i.e. brake lights flash under hard braking like in the Europaen models)?

It is possible if the car has Combox. If you have CHAMP2 and CMB_MEDIA in your SVT, then you should be able to code EBT.

When you are ready for a TeamViwer session, send me a PM and I will connect and take a look at it.

Sorry Shawn - just for clarity, does this turn on the hazzard lights (flashing), or simply flash the middle (3rd) brake light?

It flashes the inner brakes lights in addition to the center one.

So doesn't the CHAMP2 have EBT built into the hu like NBT then?

I don't think so. Code it for EBT and see if it works.

I'm currently using E-Sys 3.22.5 with PSdZData 48.3 and a purchased patch/token.

1. Once my car goes in for a service would I need to update my software?
2. Is there any point in updating now already?
3. Would I need to purchase a new token yet as there is still a few months left until the 12 months are up.

Sorry about all the questions!

shawnsheridan I'm looking for E-SYS and Data to read the I-Level of my F30. Do I need a token for this task?
Maybe later I want to do some coding too.

Sorry about all the questions!
  1. Yes.
  2. No. When the car is eventually updated, it may have a a newer release than what is available today, in which case you just wasted time and bandwidth.
  3. It depends on which token solution you currently have. If you have "patched" token solution for 3.22.x from akiss, you will need a new token solution. But if you have "patchless" token solution for 3.22.x from TokenMaster, his 3.22.x solution will work with 3.23.4 also.

You do need to break relatively hard.... check out this thread... http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=928784

I posted a video this week of my car doing it

Yes. It must be "hard braking". It is based on a certain rate of deceleration.
