You do not have to remove the ECU.
Thanks for clarifying, as that's what my prior question was about.

The gains look great; however, given the infancy of the OBD flash tune on the N55, how can AA offer a reliable OBD tuning option when MHD and others are still in the beta phase?

What's their support network like for those that might have issues?

How are they addressing the OEM flash reinstall, flash counter, and other matters?

Any customer that purchases this tunes get the same support like any other Active Autowerke product. AA have been around since the 1980s and their customer support is second to none.
You can call them with any questions about your map and you will get support from Carl, the guy who created all their maps not some customer service rep.

I already addressed the flash counter question. OBD solutions do not reset flash counters.

really?
New Functions added:
added Restore ORI function (restore to original FLASH, does not modify EEPROM) for warranty purposes
added Reading Secret key (ISN) for diesel engines* useful function for recoding used ECUs
added FLASH COUNTER LOCK function* now you can write as many times as you want your car on the dyno. Flash counter will remain always ORIGINAL.

This is the same with Bootmod3 as I was told I would have to send them my ECU. However this one posted above seems to allow you to reset flash counters thru OBD. Hmmmm interesting if its true.

Sorry if this has been asked/answered but I haven't seen it

Is this compatible with apple products? If so, that would be a huge plus for me rather then purchasing a device just for tuning purposes

You will need to run a VM

That being said, you will only need a laptop once.
After you upload the map, you are set you wont need to do any changes.
Instead of buying a new laptop, borrow one from a friend for a one time 20 minute use

Hey I've seen a bunch of tuning options come up for the n55. What options are available for the Activehybrid 3? Would love to get more power. Currently run a downpipe, chargepipe, and intake.

My car has a catted dp, intake, mpe exhaust, and intercooler. I'm currently running jb4 map 2. What are the benefits as to running this flash tune as opposed to sticking with the jb4? Aren't power gains similar?

Smoother power delivery is the biggest advantage
Also burble tune, cold start delete, speed limiter removed

Best would be to get run both at the same time

Mike - I have a question on this...

When I recently talked with Andrew I asked him if I could continue to run my current Active8 piggy back in conjunction with the flash tune (I know your reply to me earlier was that I could - that A8 would control boost & flash would control everything else)

But his reply was that I shouldn't because the flash tune already increases & controls the boost - if I used both I would run into an overboost situation (boost would be effectively doubled i.e +4psi from A8 + whatever boost flash is calling out) & damage my engine

Trying to understand the discrepancy

Flash will do everything the Active 8 does even better.

With the Jb4 it is different since the Jb4 offers features that the flash cannot do on its own.

So next question is there a time limit to how long after I receive my cable that I request my flash tunes?

I would like to completely disconnect the A8 before flash, but it's pretty cold right now to be doing that outside I want to take advantage of your spring sale but wouldn't flash till 1 month or so till I had chance to uninstall A8

Unless it's good enough to temporarily disconnect harness from A8 brain and install Valet plug to harness - effectively bypassing A8????

Or I guess I could request tunes right away, download to laptop then simply wait to install

I also understand that the new AA hi flow catted DP is in final test and will be released soon that according to Andrew is guaranteed No CEL as the Fabspeed, but at reduced price

This would be a nice combo deal DP+Flash to enable customers to go directly to Stage2 flash

Any concrete availability on DP? Combo deal possible?
