Keeping entertained

Leaving the nonsense aside what are people doing?

I’ve got 2 boys 8 and 4 we have a big space to live in and we’ve been out to parks whilst we can but the boredom is palpable, the scrapping has been biblical between what are usually best friends.

The weather is turning and so is the tide on what we’re allowed to do, stress levels are rising

It could be the best of times, it could be the worst of times.

Got my dog, who is loving the extra walks. All those niggly jobs that need doing, netflix, Amazon etc. etc.

Im a natural introvert, so no big change. However I am more mindful that we have it fucking good, we still have food, shelter and our creature comforts....We should moan less and enjoy more!

After a grim autumn and winter of endless rain and cloud where we left the house very little, apart from my work, my wife and daughter have spent a lot of time in our large garden and I've been able to join them when work (from home) allows. Plus a daily family walk. It's been bloody nice.

Drawback is the tension (when out) and complexity around a supermarket run.

Oh and today is Saturday. It will involve lots of cleaning of bathrooms, the kitchen, vacuuming elsewhere. #thecleanersaregone

Too busy to get bored so far.
Out early every day to walk the dog in a local woods that's always empty. A couple of sets of Nerf Laser Ops guns (bargain at £10 a gun) and the kids run around like loons trying to shoot me. Possibly the best purchase I've made for them in a while.
Work seems to be continuing at pace which is good and keeps me occupied then I just have to make sure the kids get some time apart so they don't start fighting.
Animal Crossing on the switch seems to be entertaining eldest daughter for a while at the moment.
Downtime is exercise regime from my friend whose a PT. Watching The Good Place on Netflix with Mrs Bibbles for some light hearted tv. Then I'll delve into the Oculus for some Half Life Alyx which is amazing or paintball or Arizona Sunshine with some friends.
Shopping is being handled by Ocado so we still get our weekly delivery, anything that's missed gets picked up by a quick 100 yard dash to Tesco 15mins before they shut so it's empty and they have started restocking the shelves for the morning.
A friend said last night during our weekly zoom beer session, there are no weekdays or weekends anymore, it's just either light or dark outside and you get on with it.

Want to start learning a new language. Speak decent French (dad was sent abroad when I was a kid so school holidays were usually in Paris) so figured another language would be nice. Was thinking Italian but wonder if Spanish might be more useful? You can get these ones where you videoconference with a 'teacher' in another country and learn by conversing, which sounds good for both - you start to learn a new language and they earn a bit of money while sat at home.

I'm quite enjoying the app duolingo for improving my French and learning a little Spanish. 15-20mins a day. I've got the kids on it as well to start learning some French.

Odio mi trabajo

Estoy muy cansada

My ex was a Spanish teacher, I tried to get her to teach me. Didn't work out well. My younger brain remembered everything, my older brain definitely did not.

The only two phrases I remember are above. Extremely useful.

I hate my job

I am very tired

Perfect when you just want to ask for the bill.

Garden tidy and patio jet wash this morning. My wife then walked across the patio in her muddy dog walking trainers. I'm thinking if I do her in, no one will find out for weeks, possibly months?

Been working flat out all week apart from a couple of brief walks and a few breaks to post on here. Might spend some time with my synth collection over the weekend, they've been a bit neglected lately.

Different family board game every night - finally itís worth having 3000? of the things ramming all the shelves in our house! Even managing to get the kids to abandon their phones whilst playing so thatís a novelty.

Getting out on my bike.
Been for a run (how can I cycle 20 miles easily but blow out my arse on a 5km run?)
Signed up online to learn Spanish.
Having counselling for my PTSD.
Watching categories of Porn Hub I wouldn't normally consider.

Dog walk is exercise for them. I'm just there to guide them.

Then it's a cycle OR run for me.

Living in the country I can do all three and not see a single person.
