Unless it's good enough to temporarily disconnect harness from A8 brain and install Valet plug to harness - effectively bypassing A8????

Or I guess I could request tunes right away, download to laptop then simply wait to install
You can request the flash tune as soon as your receive the cable, you will get your maps in couple hours.

Best would be to get the tunes now and just upload once you are ready to disconnect the A8

This would be a nice combo deal DP+Flash to enable customers to go directly to Stage2 flash

Any concrete availability on DP? Combo deal possible?

We will have them both for a combo price... If you get the tune now, you still get the credit and discount when you purchase the downpipe later

Same performance gains as catless on stock turbo, with a quieter exhaust tone and no fuel smell

and because some jurisdictions require emissions inspections, a catted downpipe is almost a requirement unless you want to have to change out the cat twice every time you have to have an inspection done.

i'm holding off until i see the AA pipe come out. it would be easy then to go full AA with a CP, IC, DP, and their OBD flash tune. sounds like an awesome setup.

Nope. DP cat is the only cat for US spec 335's.

You will smell both burnt and a little unburnt fuel without a dp but its not obnoxious. I'm going full stock exhaust since the stock system is built very well and just get a New Bigger FMIC which will make more of a difference vs exhaust. Then tune.

i am unclear. Is there one cat or two cats on a n55 435i? I find it absolutely shocking that the dp cat is the only cat in the car

Yeah man. No way is s fmic making more power than a dp. Just no way.

So wait you have owned a n55 without cat and have first experience with the smell?

My DSM has no cat and at idle sometimes yes you can smell it. My 2 E36 M3's that I owned with Supersprint exhaust and no cats were the same as well. So an N55 with no cats will do the same thing 100%

Guarantee that running the car hard there will be a more negative effect in the car running stock FMIC and DP vs the car with Bigger FMIC and stock exhaust.

This thread is a joke LOL !!!

Anyways, BMS/Terry himself are running stock cats on all their development and racing cars from N55 to S55 to N63TU and are making power. So it seems the catless or catted dp generally adds more noise but not limiting on power in the modern cars like S55/B58/N63Tu and some N55 (EWG)

BMS/Terry run stock DP for emission reason

I agree but the poster does add that Terry is still making good power with the entire stock exhaust system ,stock dp included without major power restrictions is my take.

wrong take dude.

Of course u can slap a tune on a car and make above stock power levels. And u add a dp and you make more. I am not sure whats so hard to understand.

Adding a fmic is going to lower intake temps after lengthy runs like at a track or if you live in cali and can do canyon runs. FMIC were a big deal 20 years ago when the factory oem intercooler was 90% plastic and the size of a piece of paper, if that. Things have changed. Can you get a larger than stock IC, of course. Is it going to matter much in every day driving, probably not.

No dude you are wrong! Do you see that 612awhp car in my signature? Cat or no cat there will be no significant gain or loss in my car with or without a high flow cat. Also the FMIC quality and build still holds plenty of validity. The stock intercooler is garbage. I've owned many turbocharged charged cars and the factory intercooler is less than optimal when looking for increased power. They tend to leak boost, have pressure loss and also cause hi IAT"s when you add more boost to the already inefficient turbo setup on the N55 motor.Went through this also as recently on my 2k11 Volvo S60 T6 AWD . Not trying to insult you so please do not take me the wrong way. How many factory turbo charged cars have you owned and modded? From Evos to Sti's,Mustang Ecoboost, BMW 335i's etc the factory FMIC are suboptimal for performance. They are not built for much more than what the factory out put of the car was made to do. FACTS!

If you are going to run low boost, stock turbo, then stay with the stock FMIC

I think it's been well proven that catless or HFC DP will unleash significant gains on our platform. There's a reason nearly every tune recommends one for Stage 2 maps. Can you still get excellent gains without one? Sure.

I agree with you on the FMIC though. Also well proven.

Yes there is only one cat on the stock F30/32 N55 exhaust. It sits in the down pipe. I went with the Fabspeed HFC down pipe and the power gains were immediately evident. And obviously no CEL and just passed emissions test last month. I also have the Active Autowerke axle back so my only stock part of the exhaust is from the resonator to the down pipe.

`I am not going to argue with you nor do i care about your 600hp car.

My view stands. A bolt on bmw isnt going to see a material gain from a fmic unless its a road course and the stocker melts. However a catless dp is going to show nice gains. How this turned into a conversation about race cars is just stupid. We are talking about bolt on cars. fmic is NOTHING compared to freeing up the exhaust by removing a cat.

I have owned plenty including track cars. but who cares we are talking about bolt on 435s for crysake.
