Nice, wife is out for personal training so just need to get our 18 month old to sleep earlier than usual and I can watch it. No flaws in my plan are there?

Fairly confident Lewis will get the job done today but even if he doesn't the title's his this season. The Mercedes has been a good car all year - albeit not dominant or always the best as in recent seasons - but for me he's without doubt the best driver on the grid and has shown himself to be at least one step ahead of his main rival in the Championship (Vettel).

The one driver who I think might have been able to take it to Hamilton across a season is Alonso but due to his own poor decision making he's been stuck in an uncompetitive car for far too long now and is sadly going to be lost to F1 altogether at the end of the year.

Perhaps Verstappen might be capable of giving Lewis a run for his money in 2019 but that will require a Honda engine that's both powerful and reliable so I'll not be holding my breath on that front....

It hasn't gone well. Wife left, daughter woke from a longggg nap at the same time. Dinner served but we're going to be 'watching' this race together

How many mistakes is that now from vettel? Makes an error, can't accept being overtaken back, spin.

Disappointed Lewis didn't seal the championship today but I'm sure he will in Mexico next week!

However, absolutely delighted to see Raikonnen take the win. I know he's not always been on the pace since returning to Ferrari but he's also had to play second fiddle to his team-mates on lots of occasions so great to see him finish first today. Hope he enjoys it, though, as I don't see him being on the podium much if at all in 2019....

Likewise, great to see Kimi take a win. Good racing between him and Lewis too, after Lewis's first stop. Two drivers who know how to go wheel to wheel.

I missed the rest until the last lap

I haven't seen an onboard but I'd wager Hamilton went a little wider than he might have otherwise when attempting to go round the outside Verstappen and got on the marbles a lot quicker. If he did give him a wide berth he did the right thing given Verstappen has not qualms taking someone out. Late in the race there's always going to be significant tyre debris an an outside of a corner but i think with another driver Hamilton would have tried to 'squeeze' a bit more to stay closer to the racing line. Doubt he would have caught Raikkonen given the amount of laps left and Vettel 'done' Bottas anyway to take 4th. Hamilton needs to accumulate just 6 points in the last 3 races - job done.

Did anyone else think Farrari had cocked up again when not pitting Raikkonen under the VSC on lap 11? I know I did.

I did think it at the time yes, but what do we know, there he is winning it! Looked like a big mistake.

Just 5 points I believe is good enough even if Vettel wins all 3 as they will be tied on points and Lewis has 9 race wins.

I want Lewis to start in reverse at P18 on the grid to take the mick.

Too much? :

EDIT actually Vettel pretty much did this last race, he just waited a few corners after after touching rubbers with Max

I want to him go out and nail the win (finish in a place that gives him the championship) no messing around no fancy strategy to give him a win when 2nd will do etc....like at Texas.

Vettel despite his bumper cars and 3 place penalty still had a very good race, without those he could have won and it would have been a whole different ball game, Vettel couldn't have done much more that weekend to gift the title to Lewis yet they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

I doubt it to be honest! I agree F1 has become very boring of late but the result was in doubt until the last couple of laps on Sunday and there was some good racing between Kimi and Lewis and then Lewis and Max; first time I've watched a race through to the end for quite a while!

I heard the last couple of laps were ok. Unlike a rally cross meeting where every lap is entertaining. Or British touring cars for that matter.
