It clearly is just luck as to who you get on the phone and what they feel like doing.

What was the end result for your policy? How much did it increase?
Oh no, I didnt make myself clear obviously. £0.00 increase. They accepted it as a BMW Stock item and an optional factory fit.

I'm now emailing Aran about a problem with my existing exhaust and I'll see where I end up.

EDIT...... This is the exhaust rattle that I've got at the moment. Definitely coming from the passenger side outlet. Sounds to be rattle from the flap.

They're aware that the kit comes bundled with the increase in power as well as the exhaust? No increase is a great result if so!

I've had the same rattle as well and showed the video to the local service guy at the BMW dealership and he was just surprised and hadn't seen this before.

EDIT: MPPSK is an easy fix for that problem

but did they offer to help cost wise due to the rattle.

I'm tempted to make them do the work and fix it THEN go MPPSK if they wont help

My stock one did that too. Yours has already had a new back box to fix probably exactly the same thing. I personally didn't care all that much as I knew I was getting rid of it for a proper exhaust

IMO MPPSK is the ONLY safe way if you care about warranty/good will. These cars can be horrendously expensive to fix is something goes wrong and warranty help and/or good will from dealers can resolve/help a lot. With a tuning box, you're almost certainly going to be on your own.

Thanks for that.

I think I've decided that MPPSK is the right choice. I remember a diesel tuning box on my mondeo and the number of issues that had later in its life basically made me nurse the car to the car shop to trade it in. That car didnt even make 80'000 miles and I blame the diesel box for its engine issues.

I see the JB boxes as being far more advanced and I think I posted this in the hope that everyone would push me away from the bluespark box.

I'm going to take my car along to the garage tomorrow to get someone to have a listen.

Didn't really ask as by the time I showed them the video and they shrugged their shoulders, I had decided on the MPPSK.

As you were mentioning that you were after the pops/bangs, I found out today that although those don't seem to exist on the newer kits (such as mine), there a lot of loud burbles and pops between 3/4K revs when downshifting and hovering in the same gear! Still quite enjoyable!!

hmm same boat here. last time I run my 335i came in just under 320Bhp on rolling road. Now 3 years gone and getting bored need bit more grunt.

Already have the exhaust, intake from performance kit so question is ECU , plugin box or full remap.

The single channel one just increases fuel rail pressure, the twin channel one also increases the boost pressure very slightly.

My experience on a 335d of a 3 channel TDI box, was that it fell about 40BHP and 30NM short of the claimed figures. Getting a remap setup on a rolling road is the way i will go every time now as the results are in another league. Not too much more expensive either.

When I first got the box fitted I was impressed by the difference. Getting the remap was an equal change from the box as it was from standard to box.

I'm looking at MHD stage 1 on my 440i soon as it's nearly out of warranty.

I had MHD on my previous M135i and the maps are super smooth and progressive compared to the JB4 standard maps.

Has anyone had any reliability issues - I am seriously looking at the bm3 at the minute but still have warranty on the 340 until May 2020. Getting a bit bored and want more power.
