Changing air filter

Hello guys,

I just bought an air filter from MANN for my 440i because i went for an oil change and they said they will change my air filter at 50k km and i thinks its a little too much.

Will they void my warranty if i change it myself?

I see in some yt videos that some air filters for BMW have a sponge on top. The one that i ordered doesn’t have any.

The one with the gray layer is for vehicles with M Sports package or cold-climate version.

Mine has M sport, so i think i should return the filter i just bought.
