Cheers, just ordered mine from Phil as well. How easy are these to fit?

Ian.
Easy - they just slide on and off. For mine a rubber mallet on the rear side and knock gently off. The replacements then push on and I tapped into place with the mallet. All of 5mins.

Not too bad, I left the car on for 5 mins and let the exhaust warm up. Then use a rubber mallet and a wooden block to knock the tips outwards. Each one took a few hits to loosen up.

Once you see movement, they are easy enough to pull off.

Never thought of that. Took me ages to pull them off by my hand lol!
Going to swap my 440i tips over at the weekend to the black ones

They look great on the 440 I used the hammer method to get the chrome ones off, much easier than pulling for ages lol

Cleaned the car yesterday (that is snow foam, not snow on the floor! )

Fitted the new tips, like them, but a little hard to see on MG. Thanks for the fitting advice, using block of wood and rubber mallet, really easy to remove chrome tips and fully locate new ones.

The problem with MG is perhaps the tips blend in and maybe having chrome as a contrast is better?

Who knows and I'm still gonna get a set anyway

Hello guys,

I just received the Black tips for my F36 430d N57 Engine with two exhaust pipes only on the left side of the car and, for my surprise, they don't fit. The Chrome ones (from the car) are 65mm in diameter and the Black ones are 70mm. :-S Anyone else in my situation? They were ordered under the car VIN Number as original part:

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/en/showp...09#18307610636

Thanks!

I was going to ask something similar.

Will the black chrome tips fit both LCI and pre-LCI 330D rear silencers?
