You can code head unit for 6F2, no problem, unfortunately without proper B&O amplifier those settings are useless

I would have imagined as far as speakers go, software can only make so much difference? The majority of the difference would come from the hardware, ie amplifier and speakers?

I got around to it finally and I can say I notice a difference. Love it. Anyone doubting it can try it and if you don?t like it then you can always revert back.

What it does is code the amp so the amp shapes the signal different and the speakers handle it quite well.

B&O dsp was designed and engineered with components of different class and characteristics in mind , it will sound different but deffo not better. Good find though.

There is a noticeable difference. Expanded mode is better than Logic 7. However, we all buy in with our ears. So it may not be to everyone?s taste. After about 3 hours of listening I can say it was a good idea for me.

The feedback in the original posted thread link probably captures it best with more views.

It is not true B&O by any means. More like a mutation.

I would love do see a full B&O retrofit into a F31 - I wonder if anyone has ever done it?

I assume the amplifier wiring would be the same, but tne amp & speakers (plus HU Coding) would the the physical differences?

I agree. It will be different, but saying it will be better or worse will be down to individual taste alone.

I'm going to give it a whirl and listen for myself.

To be fair, I'm a keen audiophile and IMO I've only ever seen B&O as a stylistic statement more that sound alone. I would like to see a good UK name like Bowers and Wilkins in BMW's. I've had a few pairs of their speakers over the years and for me, they are the best.

Wiring is bit different as B&O use different setup with ASD for 16 speakers and LED surround in few of them. Personally use 4x B&O mids and tweeters already, have amplifier ready to go, but no time to finish my project.

Will you be using existing HK wiring loom with your project? Or making a custom loom?!

I was just trying to work out what you are doing with your B&O parts?

Are you going to run a B&O amp with HK wiring and a mixture of B&O mids / tweeters & some HK speakers (e.g subs)?

As said above had fitted B&O 4x middle and tweeters, SWS-8 subs, and HK rear parcel shelve. Everything powered by LCI HK pro amp.
Must manage housing first for B&O subs and find set of rear parcel mids and tweeters from F13/06.

So B&O mids / tweeters are capable of being driven by HK amp?

How do they sound?

Of course they capable, is bit different but not as should be. I had done one B&O system on F13, completely from scratch, together with LED and ASD.
Very powerful with unbelievable sounds distinction.

My thought process is that surely the B&O amp would have a higher output per channel compared to the HK, hence the question is the HK amp is capable of powering them. Also, what Ohm are the B&O speakers vs HK, are they the same?

I would love to hear a B&O system and see what it offers!

Coded the DSP to Bang & Olufsen. It does make a difference. Sound seems to have more depth, bass is crisper and the surround processing is better than the L7. I actually thought something had hit or fallen off the car at one stage because the way the sound is now better!

Using Bimmercode (iOS expert mode): HU_NBT or HU_NBT2 > HMI 3000 > HIGH_END_AUDIO_MENUE = volle_insz
