Dealer Visit Question

Hi all -

I had my car in for a few things and they updated my I-Step because I was having some issues with I Drive and BT connectivity. The SIB number listed on the paperwork is SIB 84-08-18. I tried looking everywhere for this particular SIB but can't find anything on it. Anyone happen to have any details?

Also, can I use BimmerCode to find my current I Step or do I need esys?

Hey bud. I'm not trying to do anything further, just looking for the SIB so I can take a look at what exactly changed (changelog?).

I hear ya! Running FBO with a tune the less I deal with the dealer the better, lol.

It's weird because I can look up SIB's but this particular one is nowhere to be found. I'm guessing it's too new?

Only thing I found was this... Post #375

SI B84 08 18 has two associated NHTSA IDs, 10138411 (the original SI from April 2018) and 10143570 (a May 2018 update). You can look those up in the NHTSA database (click “search by NHTSA ID”). In this case, you want:

HEAD UNIT HIGH 2 RESET WHILE BLUETOOTH IS CONNECTED

Also attached for your reference.

I opted out of the final oil change I was entitled to under my maintenance plan so the dealer wouldn't get the opportunity to 'upgrade' my software, and in the process revert all of my coding back to default.
