If you are referring to the BMW prepaid maintenance for oil changes and filters, it should transfer no problem to new owner as it just follows the VIN number. Previous owner on mine purchased it and I've had no issues utilizing the services at BMW dealership (cabin filters, oil changes, spark plugs, etc)

I'm moving forward with listing the car on Bring A Trailer. It will take them 3 weeks to finalize the details and list the car. I'll leave this up in the meantime in case anyone is interested. Once it goes live I'll submit a link to the auction.

Did this ever make it to BAT? I didn't see it listed. Asking selfishly since I'm thinking about selling my F31.

Not yet. According to them, they have a 3-4 week waiting period.

A wagon did sell yesterday for almost $36K. It was modified but it had 70K miles on it. Plus, it was in an accident that damaged multiple body panels.

If you’re thinking about it then I would get the ball rolling. Lots of pictures and videos.

Also, I recently sold my SUV on Cars and Bids and I felt that it didn’t have as much exposure as BaT. They didn’t have a listing fee ($99 at BaT) but I think I would have made that back plus more.

Were you happy with the results on BAT ? How was the process ? Did you get as much as you had it listed for online ?

I’m ok with the results. Based on a prior sale on BaT, I feel like it should have sold closer to $40k (but that’s just me). The number I listed it for here took into account any negotiations on price.

The process is slow but thorough (expect 2-4 weeks to start the auction). If I did it again, I would opt for the additional $250 package that includes a photographer because we’re competing with dealers who know how to present their cars. I think if I had better pictures it would have sold for more (how much more, I’m not sure).

I would definitely use BaT again if I’m selling a unique vehicle. Side note, I’ve tried Cars and Bids. They don’t charge $99 to list the car but I feel like they’re not as established as BaT and don’t have as big an audience.

Thanks ! I looked into both BAT and C&B and C&B wouldnt take my listing unless my reserve was very low. BAT said they would take a reserve about 30% higher

Glad I can help!

Yeah, that’s the other thing. I’m not a gambling man so I would never list my auction without a reserve. You can negotiate the reserve to a point but in the end, it’s a take it or leave it scenario. I had to drop my reserve a little but it ended up selling over what I would have set it.

Also, with BaT you can actually talk to a live person. I found that really helpful throughout the process.
