Guys, in the first post he says a M3 runs 199,000 USD, he bought his car for 49,900 USD... He lives in turkey. In one post he mentioned getting an m3 engine/tranny...he also said he's not putting a badge on it...

Obviously it's less then ideal but he's doing a good job so far. There was another guy a few months back that did this too due to similar circumstances...

Ok the I'll bite. If the OP publishes the cost of all the parts and labor then MAYBE it could be worth it to someone who only wants the look (but will be referred to as a poser by many no matter what).

However, something tells me the cost of all this (in Turkey) is approaching the cost of buying another 328. If that's the case, lowering the resale value of your current 328, which is a great car, and ponying up the cost of another great car in order to do so makes absolutely no financial sense whatsoever.

Either way it's too late now so best of luck with the conversion OP, but honestly you will probably need more luck keeping the flames away for doing this.

And that import tax is outrageous in some countries. It seems like this route is the most budget-efficient way to go. But at least you have multiple options on engines in the future... S55, N55, S63..

OP, have fun with all of it dude. I bet most of the haters here have girly hands and couldn't identify the proper tool for the job if their life depended on it. Even if I already had an M, modifying any baseline 3 series to be more bad ass sounds fun to me. I suppose that's why many people make their car their HOBBY. I only wish you were in the LA area so I could help ya. The only hate that I could propagate here would be........DON'T FAKE BADGE IT.

I seriously can't believe that this project didn't cost more than a new M3. If a new M3 is actually more expensive, why not just import one from the U.S.?
