Hi. A Bimmerpost newbie with a question about interior trim. I have a 2016 340xi MSport and am about to buy a 2018. I like the trim style on my 2016 and am wondering if I can swap my 2016 trim into my newly purchased 2018. The 2018 is the silverish style which I do not love. It would be the driver side vent, the center vent piece, the center console piece, and the 4 door handles. Is this fairly easy to do? Will it fit ? Am I crazy?

No you cant just swap the colored accent lines, they are fixed by melted pins onto the backside of the panels.
If you have whole substitutes, it would be no problem and this is easy going. The work of disassembling the whole crap was way too much for me at that time. Alternatively you could consider to let them airbrushed or wrapped.

Has anyone swapped the M3/4 "wet" carbon fiber trim into a 340 (or similar)? I assume the trim pieces fit the same if OEM are purchased?

I have done this on mine, they are all the same and super easy to change.
You need a trim removal tool for the door trim. You can find a lot of youtube content of how to remove the parts

Perfect, thanks for the info. Did you use the OEM M3 carbon trim pieces or this Karbonius kit?

Thanks!

Thanks![/QUOTE]

Have bought OEM Trim and extended leather door cards form a 30th anniversary M3. That looks so much better than carbon door handles IMO.
The dash trim and leather door handles are available on ebay - might be even cheaper than the Karbonius kit

Installing the BMW OEM M3/M4 Carbon Fiber gloss interior trim in a F3X is a must have.
The typical color matched trim stripe is black chrome on the M3/M4....so nice. Don't forget to ceramic coat all your interior Carbon Fiber interior and exterior pieces.

If you have an automatic transmission, then you have to go aftermarket for the gloss carbon fiber shifter trim and handle.

Then add the BMW GTS M3 Alcantara center console armrest, CF E-brake handle and alcantara boot.

Turns out the very nice G20 M Performance floor mats fit an F3X.

Avoid the M-Performance matte carbon fiber and Alcantara trim.

BMW Parts Pros...has the best prices.

Cheers

Different strokes… I think alcantara looks cheap, hate the g20 m perf mats and not a fan of CF gloss or matte.

I like the anthracite and Merino leather
That’s the beauty of it. Make it your own.
