4 Series vert unveiled

And as expected you won't get much change from £60k, or more like £65k once you've added the essential extras.

And the grille still looks shit.

That’s quite expensive given the M cars look like they will be mid £70k’s......I know what I would rather have !!!

I think the grille looks worse on that than the Coupe. Somehow seems to emphasise it more, whereas I thought on the new M3 the overall shape kinda balanced it off a bit.

Quite nice looking, can see why the cloth roof is the better option - less weight, more boot space.

But having come from an A3 cab (and similar to the A5) the back looks far too much like an Audi for my liking... actually don't mind the front end though.

I really like that green, reminiscent of an Alpina green.

But doesn't seem to be available on the coupe in M Sport trim. Just dowdy, boring safe colours.

Yeah, it's an Individual paint that was introduced tail end of last year, Verdes Ermes it's called.

Really not a fan of the new shape with the oversize front grill. It makes them look like a cheep chinese knock off...

As a vert owner I was quite excited about the thought of a new model being released [not that I could afford a new one] and with the change to a fabric roof I was hoping that BMW would incorporate some trick functions into the roof [like the Mini] with a sunroof function or to copy MB's spoiler on the top of the windscreen and incorporate the wind deflector into the car.

Now I've seen the images and the new car is like an Audi without MB's trickery I let out a deep sigh of disappointment. At least Android Auto is now supported.

I had an E-Class with the windscreen-top spoiler and tbh I thought it looked ridiculous. And I always felt the fabric roof just didn't work on such a big car - way too much scuttle shake. It might be OK on the new 4, but the looks just don't do it for me. The 8 on the other hand...

Well I'm sure to be in the minority again but I love it. Especially in that green.

Not a pretty front, is it? There's 'bold new' design and there's crap design.. I won't bother finishing the sentence. The 4 series vert should be BMWs prettiest car, imo.

There's very few convertable soft tops that look good with the roof up or down, unfortunately this isn't one of them, looks far worse than the coupe !

The first few photographs were top down but the first picture with the roof up and at the angle it was taken, I thought it looked amazing, very Bentley-ish or something equally grand. And the grille didn't look so out of place either. (Sorry haters)

At least that grille doesn't look like the large lipped, very plastic looking grille on the 3 series (particularly m-sport). Old BMWs had grilles as tall as those, just not so wide but the overall width of the front seems to make it less painful.

How much!! BMW on the whole have gone beyond the point I'd pay the premium they are now trying to go for!

It does in M440i guise in the pics I’ve seen. You’ve just posted pics of cars that are different spec.

The profile looks a lot cleaner without the fat ass required to store the hard top.

Ah - are the fake exhausts considered a desirable option?

All the best cars have trapezoidal exhausts. They sound soooo much better
