When selecting options, we ran across this thread by JamesWWIII. Glad we did because she is dead set on the Mineral Grey and likes the way the Orbit Grey wheels look on his car. Also, her present car has the same exact tires on the front that the Orbit Grey wheels have on the rear. This tire size and profile have worked great for her during the past 13 years and 90K miles, so it gives us a warm fuzzy about handling and comfort.

She got the Executive Package ($2,500, which includes the LC Leather Dakota) and Digital Instrument Cluster ($350), instead of James' Driving Assistance Package ($500) and separate LC Leather Dakota ($1,450). Other than that, the cars are the same.

I think you and your wife are likely to be thrilled with the car. I'm still head over heels for mine, and it's been two and a half months since I took delivery. I look forward to every opportunity to drive, and still turn my head to look back at her every time I'm walking away.

Dropping her off for ceramic coating while I'm out of town next week on vacation. Looking forward to seeing the shiny when I return!

It was indeed a great experience. I’d highly recommend it to any BMW lover as a bucket list addition. I’ve added Euro delivery to my list, hope to get that crossed off somewhere not too many years down the road. Maybe make it my first M car as well?

I’m very interested in the program, but there’s all sorts of research I feel I’ll need to do before giving it a go. Such as, what are the insurance issues involved if you happen to get in an accident while driving in Europe in your new car? Is there some sort of temporary coverage you buy prior to shipping the car back to the US? What about damage during the shipping process? If you’ve already taken delivery in Munich, who is responsible for any dents/scratches while it’s on the boat? What if you get caught speeding on an international driver’s license?

Like I said, I’ll have to look into all these issues, but it will be several years before I need to worry about them. In the meantime, I’m having a blast with my F32.

BMW covers insurance and registration while you are there. It's included in the program. There is an inspection when you drop off the car at the end of your trip. Car is to be redelivered to you in the condition you dropped it off in. If you get caught speeding, that's on you. Pay the fine out of your pocket.

While I was away on vacation, I had CQuartz ceramic coating done...









Photos can’t really capture the full glory of this shine. I’m very satisfied with the results and would unhesitatingly recommend it to anyone with car appearance OCD like mine.
