F30 Oil drain plug plastic flap cover - part number

Hey all,

I changed the oil on my 2017 330i last weekend for the first time! Everything went great except for one thing: after the change, I screwed on the little plastic flap cover that goes over the oil drain plug and accidently turned it a little too far, breaking the plastic. Just wondering if a part number exists for that specific part. or if I should even bother with it? Just worried since I live in a place where there's a ton of salt on the roads, and don't want any getting under there.

The dealer is the best place for oddball parts like that. Unfortunately we don't have the same network of vendors of parts the US does. If you find one, please let us other Canadians know.

51757163899 or 51717376340 for the clip
51717376341 for the cover

Check realoem.com with your VIN: (last 7). It will be under: Vehicle trim > Mounting parts, engine compartment (if available)

Mine has been missing since day 1. I never bothered to replace it, with no ill effect.

These B48-B58 models have the starter motor and other electrical bits in that area. I've read reports of people accidentally shocking themselves with the socket when changing oil so it must be close by.

It might not be mandatory but would still be wise to cover it.
