It make difference but i always put music on to enjoy Bimmertech speakers so no road noise for me , you can add more sound deadening stuff, here are few links for you.

clean the area with rubbing alcohol, dry the area and then apply the sound deadening sheet and use roller to push it against, use heat gun or dryer and run roller and push it against the metal to have it stick to the surface.
