N55 jb4 ewg drivetrain malfunction

Installed new jb4 on my new to me 2014 435i xdrive. Keep getting limp mode drivetrain malfunction. Have been in contact with bms, and they sent me a new board, same problem. Have checked/ tried all firmware, and settings. Keep getting ‘wastegate signal missing’ . Can clear code in jb4 software, but comes back as soon as I drive. Disconnect jb4, and car drives fine. Had a jb4 back in 2011 on my new 135i, and did not have one single issue for over 4 years. Can’t say anything bad for the bms guys, they have answered quickly, and have tried to resolve this issue. About to take a cross country trip, and would like to resolve this issue. I’ve searched everywhere I could for an answer. There are a couple of threads here, but none have a definitive answer or solution. Maybe there’s something I missed, so I thought I’d post.
TIA

have you checked if you have any loose plugs for censors near the turbo? maybe that's why it says it's missing a signal? idk i'm probably totally wrong but just an idea
