That's just wrong.
Uh, I think that was my point.

Currently the dealer certifies vehicle (no indication that it's been tuned at base level dealer diagnostic software). You buy CPO. If you bring it in for warranty and they find that it has been flashed, you're stuck trying to prove to the dealer that you didn't tune it since you bought it. Guess who's going to win that argument?

I've been reading through the thread and haven't come up with a definitive answer to this question - is a transmission flash necessary to get all the power out of the Stage 2 93 tune? Without it is the transmission limiting torque or is the tune fooling the transmissions torque readings?

Thread has been dead for 3 weeks.

Question. I got a very good deal on MPPSK so did it on my 2017 340i (M-Sport / Track). Having lotsa fun with it. Car has 29K miles. Should I replace the plugs? Many of you folks suggest to do so with Bootmod3 Stage 1. I recognize that MPPSK is nowhere near as aggressive, should I do so? Please advise.

Next question. My 340i will fall off warranty next year and is destined for a Bootmod3 Stage 1 93 octane. Frankly because of most of you and the 66 pages or so before this one. Any news, rumors or rumbling on a TCU tune for the F30/B58 or have the PTF folks turned their full attention to the G20?

Follow bmw's service recommendations and you wont go far wrong.

I personally will be changing plugs every 10-15k max, imo they are cheap and an consumable, i am stage 2+ tho...

As for the gearbox map, Xhp are the leaders in that, i could be wrong but i dont think they (BM3) will bother doing a flash for the box, Xhp is regarded as the standard anyway and BM3 even recommend them...

Why does disabling ASD disable burbles?

What aggression level are the burbles on the Stage 2 93 AGG map with burbles set to OTS?

Yes, yes you can.
And you can adjust them independently between comfort/sport.

Hi folks! Finally convinced the wife to go for a flash. I'm planning on picking up bootmod3 with a catted downpipe from a sale this weekend. I also have the AP intake. Is this all I need for the Stage 2 93 octane map? Any changes to my spark plugs for this? I'm at 55k miles (will probably do then anyway at 60k).

This is also gonna be my first flash I have a windows laptop and will be picking up an enet cable with bm3. Is this all I need? Will I need the computer handy to swap to a different map if I'm stuck without 93 (which is rare)?

Thanks!

so with the 15% off i want to buy. BUT.
i extended my warranty in September for another year......i want bm3 now primarily so i can turn off cold-starts.
if i made this adjustment only, would it still void the warranty instantly?

the cold starts are doing my head in (i have mppsk).

Hey all, does anyone know what the difference is between the BM3 Stage 1 93 octane and Stage 1.0 93+ octane map? I've tried searching both the internet at large and this thread and haven't been able to find an answer. Presumably the 1.0 is intended for both 93 octane AND higher based on how its worded on the maps? If I have consistent access to 93, can I just run that?

It's listed in the notes when you select the maps. Changes to boost and load strategy and something around fixing loss across the cats or something like that.

Even if you have 93 readily available you need VERY good quality 93 for stage 1.0+. I had HPFP rail pressure drops and then lots of timing corrections even though I was on fresh 93. It may be worth a try with the 93 in your area but yes, it seems like it's for 93+ with a big emphasis on the +
