Sluggish off the line

I have a 2017 330 I. First four cylinder I've driven since about 2004 oh, and my first turbocharged engine. I've noticed though that when I try to accelerate away from a stop, especially if I need to get moving quickly like turning left onto a divided four-lane, there is absolutely no pick up for the first
Couple of seconds. Is this just turbo lag I should get used to, or is there something off? Car has about 80,000 miles on it

Really depends on what mode you in,but its pretty normal. There are alot of factors for the 4 cylinders that cause turbo lag like cats and charge pipes etc. So its normal. in comfort its annoying, i suggest switching the shifter to the left for sport transmission

Unless I'm on the highway, I drive everywhere with the transmission in drive, but pushed left to "sport" mode. The transmission holds gears a bit longer (especially if you hammer the throttle) and makes Comfort mode livable. Switching from Comfort to Sport via the rocker switch — as opposed to pushing the transmission shifter left while in drive — will make things a bit snappier still, taking off a bit sharper and shifting much quicker/harder.

Duly noted. Sport trans mode everywhere. Until I get a 6 cylinder again.
