Best exhaust for B58

Hi guys! I drive a 2017 440i coupe xdrive and I recently had both muffler and dual resonator deleted and the car just doesn't sound that loud to me at all. I'm also bothered by the drone it makes around 2-3k rpm because I drive a lot in the freeway and 2-3k rpm is where I mostly sit at during my travel. Is there any exhaust modification or exhaust system brand you guys can recommend that will be loud enough without voiding my warranty.

Catless downpipe and put back in the resonators or mufflers.

Get an aftermarket muffler and a catted downpipe. You'll open it up more without sounding too harsh + less smell.

Dude is in CA and wants to keep warranty so he's stuck with OEM DP. Unfortunately, nothing is going to be "loud" with the OEM DP as that's your main restriction, but a MPSSK would allow you to keep it quiet for hwy cruising and then open up the valves for spirited driving.

Do you have any idea if mpssk is louder than stock with dual resonator and muffler delete

MPPSK is the way to go! Especially if warranty matters.
It is a state of the art valved exhaust and worth it even if out of warranty.

It'll be quieter. Albeit with less drone and such; but it still has a resonator and muffler.

Wrong.
MPPSK does not have a resonator at all and practically does not have a muffler in Sport mode (and above 4000 Rpm). It becomes a straight pipe with larger diameter than the stock exhaust.

Catted downpipe + REMUS axle-back gives you a deep tone without any drone , that's the best setup in my opinion

Its not as loud as a muffler delete but you get more volume in the mid-range

Just like beauty is in the eye of the beholder, the elegance of exhaust acoustics is in the ears of the listener.

There isn't a straightforward recommendation to make in these matters: only suggestions from others serving as raw materials for your own research.

My 2 cents worth: Akrapovic.

As noted above the mppsk should be in the running for an excellent b58 exhaust. It is an excellent choice of quality, extra power, warranty and seamless integration with the car. I have been very happy with my install.

MPPSK is actually my first choice because of BMW warranty. I agree - MPPSK remains one of the top choices.

I've seen pictures of rusted out MPPSK mufflers. Also too expensive

My solution: Catless downpipe + Remus 340i/440i Midpipe and axleback

Got it on sale from Extreme Power house in a bundle. Exhaust cost me $1,700 total + $185 for downpipe. Sounds amazing and I highly recommend it

No "but".
Loud AND ugly. Nothing sophisticated about that - just cheap, loud and ugly (VW Golf back-yard tuning).

I also have the MPPSK. The sound is awesome and ability to go stealth is icing on the cake. There have been times when in "Sport" i was not expecting a burble and got it....that always brings a smile to my face. Im getting an AA catted downpipe soon and honestly it may be to loud for me.

I doubt you will find it too loud, the sound increase from the downpipe is very subtle.

The biggest difference is the volume in the mid-range. It's not louder but a much deeper tone.

My catted DP made Sport mode just on the edge of being too loud for my liking. It is now "tolerable" but I'm not sure how long I could drive in Sport (before I get too tired of the sound/noise). Unlike some people here I only drive in Sport when I am myself also in "Sport" mode for driving. Otherwise prefer the comfort of ... Comfort

What mike@x-ph.com wrote above is true however - the biggest difference was not the loudness per se, but the change of the sound. Appreciably deeper RAAOOW in the mid-range. Savage!

I have been having the MPPSK for a couple of years now, but it wasn't before the addition of the DP that people occasionally started turning around when I pass by in Sport.... Not sure if this is good or bad though
