Finally added Speed Limit Info

Look through this thread and it should be there.

All I need to do was to add 8TH to VO, then CODE HU_NBT2 and KOMBI ECU's, I mean CODE the ECU's, not FDL coding.

Thanks. I guess this is beyond my capabilities then... the app I use (bimmercode) can only perform basic fdl coding I believe. Adding 8TH is essentially VO coding, right?

Another thought: Cant the 8TH entries be added manually one by one for VO coding though, through bimmercode app? That's what Ive read in the past.

You could do just the fdl coding but it could be wiped out with a dealer flash/update.

So I installed my Chinese emulator on a 2016 F30 US spec. Have NBT. I get the speed limit info on the KOMBI which is a digital 6WB. Good news is that this KOMBI does not show mph or kph so that issue is non existent.

The bad news is I am
Not seeing the cool red line indicator above speed limit as shown on attached video (see what happens above 100kph)

Any ideas why? I really wanted this feature. No fdl coding seems to enable it.

Maybe the redline needs the kafas camera in the windshield? Just a thought.

OK guys, here is another video of someone who has an F31 (possibly with true KAFAS/SLI) and as you can see at around 35secs there is an overspeed visual marking on the gauges....(LOOK CLOSELY AT THE SPEED NEEDLE and the trail it leaves behind...) This is the exact same 6WB cluster I have.... any ideas why the emulator doesn't seem to enable this feature?

It requires VO CODING so it really doesn’t look like bimmercode will get you there. I paid a coder to do it.

I purchased it from eBay. $109

By the way, the overspeed graphic shows up on kmh setting no problem, as I found out. But in mph it does NOT!!

Damn damn and DAMN! lol, might have to make a call to bimmertech on this one. I'd still be in without the graphic bit maybe they know something we don't haha

The graphic wont show up... I called the seller, and they admitted not testing on MPH and is a known bug/issue. Same reason it shows KMH on regular analog clusters even if you are on MPH. Oh well...

I wont point ya guys with the nose onto the obvious...but: This was a known fact from the china clone and also detailed discussed into here, that only metric units are considered and others not.
Until now I havent found any other emulator exept the "original" as posted here at the start, which is be able to solve both solutions caused by internal dip switches.
So the set "pay cheap and you have to pay twice" comes to mind

I don't think the lack of overspeed graphics was ever mentioned before (on a digital cluster)

Finally Installed the China Clone SLI in my UK 330e, very pleased with it, cost £77

Quick and simple to plug in without any wire cutting behind my cluster, which is held in with just 2 torx screws, and coding was easy, as explained in this thread and I copied.

It shows the correct speed in mph, the display has km/h but its font is small, so I hardly notice it.

It also has Motorway roadwork reduced speeds in the map database too!
I guess because the map updates are now 4 times a year they can add temporary speed limits for all roads.

After I received mine I got a message from the seller that the new ones can now be ordered with mph displayed,
I couldn't be bothered to send mine back to China and have to wait a few weeks.

I've had the european one of these fitted in my car for the last >12months and its working flawlessly - with a 6WB retrofit, shows the 'red trail' speedlimit as per the video - i love it!

didnt stop me getting a speeding fine but the speed trap detector ought to help with that!

I contacted this seller. They told me they are almost done developing a MPH version for us market etc. I hope the overspeed trailing graphic works on 6wb!!!!

Yes, I also contacted seller - stated units with 'MPH' are in testing & will be available soon. Said he would notify me thru eBay when they come out with auction link...
