Service Due in 5/2019 or 9000 Miles
Hi ,
I have taken Certified BMW 430Xi Gran Coupe Last Month with 7344 Mileage on it.The Car Fax Report says below at 7077 miles "Pre-delivery inspection completed Maintenance inspection completed Oil and filter changed Tire condition and pre ssure checked Alignment checked Four wheel alignme nt performed Tire(s) balanced Four tires balanc ed Vehicle washed/detailed" Currently it has 8000 miles and when ever I start the vehicle it keeps displaying a message that Service due in 5/2019 in 9000 miles. I'm bit Confused . Does this mean I should get the service after 9000 miles from now which will be around 17K or at 9000 miles Please suggest in case of any idea. Thanks |

Change it in 9000 miles.
You'll see those miles decrease the more you drive it. You can get it changed as early as when 2000 miles remaining.

when you’ve added another 9k miles? Or at the date whichever is first?

The mileage or date, whichever comes first. This morning mine said service due in 6000 miles, November 2018. For all the capabilities of the iDrive it's pretty strange that three years in it hasn't figured out yet that I drive less than 5000 miles a year, or how to divide that by 12 for a monthly estimated mileage.

If you have Connected Services, your dealership will also be informed when your car needs servicing. Like others have said, it’s due when you add another 9000 miles or on the date, whichever comes first. That said, you can take it in within about 1000-2000 miles of that extra mileage and the dealer will usually accept it. In my case, I received an email from the dealer stating it was time to take my car in..

It should be able to make a reasonable estimate based on past experience. Maybe not within the first year of service, but certainly after three years.

I’ve never heard of a car doing that. Conditions change. Maybe you move, have a new job. How many people have leased cars, tried to estimate mileage and ended up being way off? One way or another .

I've yet to see one be accurate. My wife's truck isn't even close for any item (brakes, oil, etc.) If it's under warranty, it's 1yr/miles. If out, seems better bet is every 6mos with heavy driving (oil change)
