3-Series / 4-Series Gran Coupe Render
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com The good news is that underneath the disguise lies a very good looking car ,which really enhances the stylish and individual looks of the E92 with modern BMW design language and features but still keeping that individual look which distinguishes it from the 3er Sedan to be classified as the new BMW 4er Coupe And Cabrio. The sleeker more dynamic roofline will also provide the basis for a very sexy looking four door Gran Coupe model which will bring the sleek sportiness , premium image and ambience of the 6er Gran Coupe to the Premium entry sports segment. A 4er Gran Coupe is considered because of the scope of flexibility on the platform. In style 4er Gran Coupe will be a 4er Coupe with standard front and rear styling, it will adopt a longer , flatter roof , conventional B-pillar and rear doors. The Platform for the Gran Coupe arrives from the China-only market 3er Li in a shortened version which is also found underneath the Gran Turismo 3er. This will benefit the interior and the length will provide adequate seating for four adults. In height the 6er Gran Coupe is lower than the new 3er (F30) current Coupe (E92) , 5er and 7er. The 4er Gran Coupe will be a few inches shorter than the 6er Gran Coupe. Although a 4er Gran Coupe is not entirely a new idea. BMW did build a design proposal model of a four door E92 in 2005 but was rejected in favour of a more upmarket approach which eventually led to the illfated 2007 CS Concept. Which had the economic crisis not occurred , we would be seeing the production car around now. The 6er Gran Coupe is the "replacement" for the CS if you will. But with the next generation 7er they would like to bring a similar CS option to the 7er.

I would love to see a M4 GC, but I am afraid of the price tag! $80K, fully loaded? which would be the same as a CLS550

A loaded e92M is ~$77K+ and e93M is ~$83K, so for sure the M4GC will be close to if not over $90K+ loaded.

Looks great. But like everyone else here, I fear the price (especially in Canada). It'll probably be somewhere north of 100k for us in M form.

how accurate is this information that bmw will develop this? seems like overkill on those niche/4-door coupe concepts. that being said Audi does have an A5 Sportback (4door) in Europe... which makes the A7 kind of redundant... seems like this (if true) would be more aggressive looking than a 3 sedan... more expensive than a 3 sedan... not quite as big as a 5 series... ?
why didn't they just make this thing the 3er sedan then? lol... bmw i'm loving you're newer design language... but with this and the x4 seems like somebody high up in bmw let their little kid play with the "Approved" stamp in the design studio. oh well... i can't wait till next month to go drive the F30 locally.

The front definitely looks better than the F30, doesn't look flattened in the front.

Car looks nice ... but I prefer the F80 M3 sedan! Hope the engine thing goes the right way (for me!).
It seems like BMW brings really two cars in the A5 Sportback range ... first the 3er GT (5-door hatch!?) which probably looks much more like an A5 Sportback than an small (Baby-)5er GT and the 4er CG (4-door coupe!). Greets Uli_HH |

Like it better than an F30, but I would like a true coupe more.
