BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe May Look This Stunning
BIMMERPOST NEWS BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe May Look This Stunning Now that we know the general look of the upcoming 4 Series Coupe (from the revealed concept model), we can take a better guess at what the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe (F36) model may look like. BIMMERPOST member philip has put together this render for us, based off the 4 Series Coupe Concept. As with the 6 Series Gran Coupe (to the 6 Series Coupe), we can expect the 4 Series Gran Coupe to share the head and tail lights with the rest of the upcoming 4 Series lineup. Codenamed as the F36, the 4 Series Gran Coupe will be positioned and priced in the 3/4 Series lineup just as the 6 Series Gran Coupe is positioned in the 5/6 Series lineup (in between the coupe and convertible models). It will also share the same engine offerings as the 4 Series coupe and convertible. UPDATE: More realistic revised 4 Series Gran Coupe render Quote:
UPDATE: And a separate render by NN5`º Quote:
Original render by philip: Recent spy photo and video: Like the 6 Series Gran Coupe, the 4 Series Gran Coupe combines the convenience of 4 doors (and larger rear passenger cabin) with the sleek roofline and silhouette of a coupe. It will share the upcoming 4 Series Coupe (F32)'s overall styling, just as the 6 Series Gran Coupe shares with its coupe counterpart. With the 4 Series Gran Coupe as an addition, here is a summary of the upcoming 3 Series / 4 Series lineup:
Expect the 4 Series Gran Coupe to hit the market sometime in 2014 to compete with the Audi A5 Sportback. Follow our 4 Series Gran Coupe coverage @ http://www.bimmerpost.com/4-series/f...ries-4-series/ |

Just no idea how this doesn't totally cannibalize F30 sales.

It all goes on their bottom line sales figures though, and it may stop people looking at other brands slightly sportier offerings. Plus it will be more expensive, so the extent of the cannibalization will probably be limited to the larger engined models, rather than the smaller engined offerings that probably make up the vast majority of global 3-er sales. Will it affect the profitability of the overall 3-er range? I don't know, but I'm guessing not.

If this car comes out that good looking, I am trading in my F30.

From my subjective assessment, most F30's around here (and on the roads) are spec'd at <$50K USD. BMW will push the 4GC to be a $65K+ car.
In other words, the F30 and F36 will be at different price points, and the GC will not cannibalize any more sales than a similarly priced F10. |

That runs it into the price points of a 535 or 550, which would cannibalize their segmentation of models. I think it would be below $60k. Just my opinion. |

That doesn't matter. Some 5-series cross into 740i territory. There will always be overlap. My car hit $65k+ MSRP, you can't imagine a 4GC doing the same?
