130k miles and going strong 💪
I just wanted to say a quick hello and thanks - I have owned my 2014 320d ed touring for almost 3 years now and it has been the most reliable car I have ever had. I have picked up some tips from this forum over the years which have helped (lurker).
Now I know that higher mileage concerns are commonplace so thought it only fair I give my experiences as it may help someone out if they are looking at purchasing a car with a few miles on it. Mine has now done 130k and it is as sweet as a nut. The only thing to mention is that it did have the EGR cooler replaced at 110k as part of the recall. Took the dealer 8 weeks though!! I have not suffered any suspension issues yet and the engine sounds smooth as it should. The car has gone through one major service and 2 full services during my ownership. I now have oil replaced every 6k as i do about 11k a year. Maybe it is because I am an Alfa Romeo nut at heart but these cars do seem incerdibly well built and respond well to being maintained properly. |

Good to hear. My 2015 330d Sport is on 144k and I know it's an old saying but it really feels like half the miles. Full BMW history up to 120k and now oil changes every 8-10k. Just changed the 4 front arms (DIY) but even the old ones were in good shape.

Ditto to above. Mine now 120k and owned from new. Still considering changing but just went through MOT and tester said it was in incredible condition with no play anywhere or even advisories.
Took for a valet (I’ve long stopped snow foam and 2 bucket routine I’m afraid) and put on winter shoes as a treat for her. Great cars. |

My 335d has just ticked over 100k miles, best record for me was my e91 320d which I sold at 204k miles still going strong!

Good going!
My f10 is currently sat at 149k with the only repairs being engine and gearbox mounts, guibo x3, rear diff mount and a pair of track rod ends Everything else seems to be tight! Aim is to get this to 230k+, I would have by then put 200k miles on it and definitely got my money's worth! |

I’d say it’s just run in, our e87 is at 148k repairs so far is dual mass fly wheel, rear abs sensor and a set of shock absorbers, previous e87 had 193k on it and was still going well, with even less repairs. Only managed to get to 26k in my f31 before it got written off so had to start again with the replacement

Is interesting, how this seems to polarise owners. Some seem to think bmws (at least modern models) are shockingly unreliable compared to Asian offerings, whilst others say the exact opposite. There doesn't seem to be much in between.
Personally I'm the latter, after selling an e92 330i with 120k on the clock it felt like my exes brand new 320, just faster! |

Barely even run in
I've had 3 pre-owned bimmers over 12 years now and the Mrs has for 1 year. They have been supremely reliable. I wouldn't blink at that mileage given good maintenance. In all that time, my 12 year old Z4 needed a Rocker cover gasket, Window Regulator and some Arms/Bushings and Rear Springs (all at 10+ years old!) - totaled about £350. I've never even had a blown bulb!! |
