EDIT: Just spoke to Vardy in Edinburgh and on top of the £9,551 deposit contribution, they'll also pay the £999 customer deposit if you're trading in a BMW. As I'm pretty much on my VT point that seems like a bit of a no-brainer..... hmmmm |

I have arranged to borrow one for the day tomorrow, so I will see how it behaves on my local roads EDIT - just spoke to my insurer and there should be no price change from my 2014 335d which seems surprising! Last edited by JD6; 10-31-2019 at 10:47 AM.. |

Seems a cracking deal if you can handle the increased running costs over a M40i/M40d. Service Pack seems to have been replaced by monthly service plan @ £45 per month for M cars, compared to £25 per month for normal 3 series or X3.

Surely if they're offering these for the price they are, isn't there a fairly real risk the car won't be worth the gfv at balloon payment time?
Clearly they can't shift them at the £70k+ list price as it is.... |

In the process of discussing a change for my 440 as cost to change is better than a five months ago when i was originally looking.
Tested both the X3 M40i & M40d, the d just it seemed to suit the vehicle better. But while at dealers yesterday, he was quite persistent in pushing the X3M competition, I now know why. He had some good deals ( or so i thought) but not as good as these ones. Thanks to the posters, more ammunition for me going forward.

Wow that is one hell of a deal.
Could have been seriously tempted by that if it had been on offer when l ordered my M340i a couple of months ago. There was an X3M in the showroom in an orange colour with a cream leather interior and it was absolutely stunning. |

There don't seem to be anything like the same offers on the oil-burners, at least not as far as I've been able to find so far |

Isn't that BMW's issue - just hand it back and walk away?

Well when they were putting the M5 (non Comp) out at less than £70k a few weeks ago, the X3M at over £70k was going to be a tall order....

I see Stratstone are also doing a 'deal' on the 2.0d X3 - the difference in that and their X3M DEAL is the M would cost just over £5000 more over the 48 months - completely bonkers - you'd be mad not to - wonder if they do a deal for a group buy? Yes its a bit stiffer and the mpg is a little below par but you only live once... Just get it on PCP, run it on Momentum and hand it back at the end - zero risk...

The B57 engine felt right for vehicle, maybe the lazy torque helped a lot, The steering was a lot better. The engine seemed to respond better and smoother than my previous 2015 335d. It also sounded a better. I was set on a M40d with Sports+,Tech & Comfort and going in tomorrow to finalise figures, they have one in stock Phytonic blue/Oyster with 21" But these X3M deals are tempting to say the least.

Fairbairn are looking like they’re willing to match Vardy on the M40i deal so would be interested to see how close the 40d is. |

Looks like a great deal but it's a low mileage. It's less than Mr TP pays for is M40i but that's on 15k a year and has quite a few options. And knowing what the fuel consumption is like on the M40i, I hate to think what it is on the X3M real world.

That is a crazy deal, if I did less miles I’d be seriously tempted to get one next, and put standard M Sport springs in it!

I think the BMW market is stalling big time. I've seen £599 with zero deposit for that's a better deal for sure.

Slackstones in Leeds were offering the 40d at £499 deposit, and £499 a month. 48 month term, 8k miles per year.

My dealer mentioned to me that as well as new ones which should be available at the same 549/549 price as Stratstone, they also had the Dealer Principal’s 3 month old car available, and that has lots of kit apparently. It’s the one I’m borrowing tomorrow.
I’m not too sure how I should value that against a new ‘base’ spec one, both on PCP. Given that I would be handing either back after 4 years, any views about whether a high spec 3 month old example should be cheaper than a new base spec one? |
