Hi guys recently bought a 420d manual, all is good so far apart from I just noticed yesterday that when I turn the engine off a couple seconds after there is this strange noise? Don't think it's allways done it but can hear it when the door is open and engine switched off sometimes lasts longer than others. This is the noise

I don't know what it is, but that is normal. My car has always done it as well. Maybe someone else knows the source. Sounds like a stepper motor closing a flap or something.

I believe that is the electric throttle body.
Later updates to the engine ecu change that sound to a slow tick tick tick, as it is closing slower.

Have your ecu updated to a later version.
