Unhappy Stationairy RPM not consistent in all gears other than neutral.

Hi all, thanks for taking the time to read my question,

I have a 2016 F34 320d xDrive and the issue I'm facing is that in any gear other than neutral the rpms don't seem to be stable and jumps up by around 50-100 and then goes back down again constantly. Weirdly this doesn't happen all the time and runs fine but its happened enough now for me to notice it.

Another symptom I'm noticing is that at low speeds the car feels jerky sometimes and its almost like the power is cutting out then coming back for a split second. But again this doesn't happen all the time and only here and there.

I recently took the car to BMW and they did a visual inspection and told me that there are symptoms of an oil leak from n/s output seal differential.

I also plugged a code reader into the car and got these two fault codes back:
P282E
P2834

Some other symptoms i have is that at high rpms (around 4-5k) a decent amount of white smokes comes out the exhaust.

The average person wouldn't notice an issue with the car driving it day to day as it isn't throwing any faults on the iDrive or my instrument cluster and the car drives fine for the most part but i feel like there is something not right and I'm catching early symptoms of it.

If anyone has any advice or ideas on what you think my issue is and if you think my symptoms are related then id be so grateful for your input.

Thanks!

The described symptoms could be related to transmission slipping in and out of gear.
Also, it seems that those are transmission related codes. So, two things highly likely are related.

Power cutting and coming back events in some cases are related to misbehaving VANOS actuators, but your car is diesel powered and does not have VANOS.
