F30 xDrive - lowering springs suggestions (pic request)

Hi,

I've recently bought an F30 320d M Sport. It's an xDrive, so the OEM ride height, in my humble opinion, is far too high.

I want to lower it circa 25-30mm. Are there any suggestions on lowering springs, with before and after pictures of F30 xDrives that have been lowered on springs (not coilovers)?

Thanks in advance.

The ride height looks spot on. The only issue is I'm based in the UK. From the limited research I've done, Dinan are US based, an not sure they ship worldwide.

Scheidmann sells the AC Shnitzer lowering springs for ix, they have the same specs as the Dinan springs and they are in Europe

I will say... if it is only ride height you are looking to solve than springs will be just fine. If it is float, bounce, and body roll your looking to fix as well, the springs will not cut it. The stock struts and shocks will need to be changed as well which is why I went from the Dinan springs to a coilover setup.

how much stiffness did the dinan springs add? Would you say it corrected 50% of the body roll? Also are those 19's in your pic?

Yeah those are 19" Savinis for summer. I run the 18" 400M in winter.

Maybe 20% body roll if I was forced to put a number to it but the car was even bouncier over bumps and the road and what not as I'm sure the car was constantly hitting or riding on bump stops due to the stock struts and shocks. I know it's more expensive but if your main goal is ride quality/improvement and not just cosmetics I'd go coilovers and not waste your time with just springs with the F30 stock suspension platform. Been very happy with Bilstein B14 PSS, doesn't slam but much lower than springs and it's quite stiff without being obnoxious for daily driving.

Get M sport springs off a RWD car...add Bilstein B4 shocks. Ride height is 1 inch lower, roll is gone, handling is perfect for hard driving...

Could not agree more. Lowering (stiffer) springs and softer OEM shocks designed for springs with longer rebound/ compression travel are not the best of combinations. It's best to do this correctly the first time There are many great coilover-based suspension options.

Do you have DHP?

Start with Dinan springs/bumpstops and re-evaluate (30% stiffer / 20mm drop)

If no DHP - go what guys above said

Would DHP be the adaptive suspension? I too was wondering the same about springs. But I wasn't able to find Dinan springs for an XDrive.

"I still love the suspension, although I did notice that on an extreme cold days (-15c),the ride was supper jittery and stiff. Cold makes the fluid within the shocks more viscous,so thats understandable. If I had known this I would have gone with the b4s,cheaper and softer but also not as durable. Although the gripand handling is still amazing, glued to the road."

You are in chicago - do you also notice this in the cold?

Maybe on the coldest of days I notice a difference, nothing for me to complain about though. I don't find it super jittery. I do have a 328 vs his 335. . Maybe an influence of the weight difference? So better than the stock setup.
