So there are two OEM screens on eBay right now that have no damage/scratches/blemishes per the sellers. One is $499 (60k miles on screen) other is $550 OBO plus shipping (9k miles on car when taken out). I think I would rather go with the one from the car with lower miles. Of course I would rather pay like $400 for it seeing that some got theirs for around $250 in the past. Last edited by skunis; 08-14-2018 at 03:14 PM.. |

So, I did the install this weekend.
First off, the screen is perfect, not a scratch on it and per the seller only 9k miles on it. The install was so easy. Trim popped off easy. I only used a trim removal tool where it got thin by the passenger door. Everything else went pretty smoothly although the connector was a bit tough to get off the original screen. Coding was easy and screen works great. One issue I have noticed is that the splash screen (that says BMW Connected Drive) when the car starts up does not always come on when I start the car. It goes right to whatever I have set for the split screen. Of note, I did previously code the car to remove the warning message. Anyone else have that issue? Any solutions? |

If the head unit boots too quickly, you don't get to see the startup animation and it goes directly to what you had displayed before shutting off the car. My car does this, too.

Interesting. Not sure I noticed that when I had the old 6.5" screen but could be because I just wasn't paying attention.

Hi everyone, a newbie here and need some help. Been through this thread but not sure if I came across an answer (or I may have missed it). I have NBT Evo 6.5” screen and I’d like to upgrade to NBT Evo 8.8” touch screen. Besides coding for resolution, what else do I need to do to make the touchscreen work? And is the touchscreen useful / work only if I have Nav? Many thanks.

Touch screen won't work (I think someone tried it without success - try searching this thread, but a regular 8.8" non-touch screen will work (BMW part no. 65506822626). EDIT: The part.no. I mentioned is for F30/F34/F36, you need to find the part no. that fits F48. |

Can I check that the cable for the 8.8" screen (touchscreen or otherwise) is the same as the 6.6" screen, i.e. I don't need a different cable? |

I got a mmi unit from car-solutions. Bit hard to use. If set to 8.8 mode I'll get full screen but when set to 6:4 screen it looks weird and blacks out the right side of screen. This Pic is set at 6.5 on the mmI unit. Has a vertical line on the left side but shows idrive info on the right side.

Hi guys,
I have 2016 F30 LCI cars with no navigation so I want upgrade my screen from 6.5 inch to bigger one 8.8. Car should be compatible with bigger screen and headunit ENTRYNAV. My question is which screen should I order from ebay pre-LCI one or LCI one. I know both should work, but I saw that pre-LCI have same problems with tint and dimming. If is the only problem little different tint that is ok because it is much cheaper. Thanks |

Hi fellas, Ive been following this thread for months now ( Before buying my car) and have planned to retrofit the 8.8'' screen since i first decided to buy the car, its a 2015 X435D with HU_entrynav.
I bought my first 8.8 '' screen off the Bay part:- 6822625 fitted and coded with ESYS -HU_NBT > 3000 HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = 8.8_1280x480 HU_NBT > 3001 EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display and had 'No signal' I sent this screen back and bought another (same part no) and it did the same- No signal. Have any of you seen this before? any advise would be appreciated. Thanks in advance |

Having done the coding part right, the only reason you see a "No signal" message (given the radio works and you can hear music playing through the speakers) is that you are using an incompatible screen. EDIT: Thes screens in the linked post are for the 3-series, so you need to check www.realoem.com for the screen for your car. The one you bought is too new, so look for an "older" part number. so i am about to revert my screen back
obviously the code to change it to 8.8 is Only have to code these two entries to read HU_NBT > 3000 HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = 8.8_1280x480 HU_NBT > 3001 EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display what was the original code lol i didnt write it down!!

Don't remember the default for DISPLAY_VARIANTE, but I think it was "schmales_display". |

Got to say, anyone with your first BMW don't worry about doing this, it really is simple. Read code data to get your CAFD and edit at your leisure on the sofa. Then code in once the screens are swapped.
Out of the 20 minutes it took me to get this sorted, 10 were spent on removing the bloody video cable!! Trim removal tools are a good help, if you don't have those any 2 old plastic cards (credit card size) will work. Just my experience for anyone on the fence. I did want to get the F15 10" screen, but with 2 years warranty and services I didn't want to have to explain my self. This is more subtle. Also, I haven't used my dremel in a long time, and a £300+ screen isn't my preference for a first project back in. Anyone know what the second option that has now showed is? Couldn't be the "Snap in" by any chance? Was not showing on my 6.5" screen. |

Thanks for sharing your experience! Are you sure the snap-in entry wasn't there before? The only thing that should get enabled alongside the larger screen is "splitscreen functionality".

Most definitely wasn’t there, perhaps had the module been ‘re-coded’ and changed back to default values it may have shown . Not too worried about this because it’s massively over priced with no benefits above a normal USB cable.

I have found a screen with this part number: 9385202 but its a EVO screen(what does that mean?) will it work for my car?
