Davy that's some garage you have! Either way....whatever new arrival you get it will be good!

F30- Only got quote so far from Bavarian and they were miles off! I'm using broadspeed as initial benchmark! And an NI section would be brilliant, good idea!

Dunzzy - happy days, been ack and forward myself but just can't knock the discounts available on the F30 335D! Do you mind me asking what sort of discount you got?

Hi no probs it's hard to calculate exactly when you are part-ex as the always mess around with px price and dealer deposits and you never know exactly what your car is worth a few months down the line but reckon I am getting between 6k and 8.5k off the price going off Parker's and glass guide px values for my x6 I it's nearer the high side 8.5k as the dealer is paying 3.5k-4k more than the glass/Parker's trade in valuation. I asked the dealer for a comparison with a 4 series and he advised about the higher apr and no dealer / bmw contribution so 5.5k more at least. I am happy with my cost to change at the end of the day as I say would have gone for a 4 series if costs were more comparable but it it was too good a deal to turn down and dealer has advised delivery early jan - that's only 7 weeks!

Well done Dunzzy. I'm jealous I personally prefer the 3 series and it is more practical with the 4 doors.

Andyers - the best discounts do seem to be across the pond and that where I'll be heading unless the deal is right here.

As we all know the state of the car market at the minute, takes 5minutes to sign on the line for a car and 5months to sell or get ripped off yet again trading it in.

On the other hand some really good leasing deals about at the minute on the 330d.

I have been in contact with JKC today also, I told them I was disappointed at the figure they were giving me for the Mini which I intended to trade but didn't seem to bothered.

Andyer - I tried broadspeed today and according to the email quote they have given me the deal on a 330d looks good, even if it had to be collected from the mainland.

F30 just got my quote emailed through there now....am a bit confused now, do we wait for them to contact us now with pcp quote or do we need to pay the £199 to get that?

JKC said the deal on broadspeed was a loss, said its someone trying to sell metal to hit volume target!

In regards to delivery...dealer could deliver to boat I take it? instead of having to go over?

Guys buying a car from the mainland is easy, just get someone like Woodsides or Eamon McLaughlin to collect at dealership and they deliver to your door in NI. Costs about £250 to £300. I used Woodside last year for an Audi we bought for my company, very quick and easy service.

So what discount levels were JKC doing on the 335d? I have to return a call to their sales manager tomorrow, do you want me to pass on any messages? Can't see the Broadspeed deals are all losses, there are plenty of people getting decent discounts from their local dealer and does the configurator not now show something like 13% on the 335d Touring?

Yes F30 I was in looking at the new model black X5 reversed in at the door, there may have been others looking at it as well. My current silver X5 was also parked in the back row against the wall.

Andyers - I was talking to one of the UK and they can arrange delivery anywhere in the mainland so I was thinking of having it delivered to Stranraer for collection / inspection.

I get the feeling JKC's aren't desperate for sales. On the test-drive on saturday the salesman said they have 50 orders for January.

Davyk31 - Yes I think I remember seeing it. My wife's Mini Camden was parked along there too.

Speaking to broadspeed again tonight and it seems the first guy gave me wrong info,....turns out the Bavarian and JKC deals aren't as bad as I thought! Total vehicle cost is £45,490, they can both do it for £38,950. Broadspeed originally quoted £37,442 which is now £38,757...but they did add this could come down again when they go out to their network. I reckon both JKC and Bavarian could nudge down slightly and get themselves in the race!

As for collection I have bought 2 cars in England....and both times too impatient (especially with my E92) to wait for transporter....I ended up paying for one of those services where they drive the car to the docks themselves. You should try shiply.com it's basically an ebay for deliveries.

F30_msport, interesting that JKC are not under pressure to meet targets. I guess the low rate pcp deals and contributions from BMW and dealer are having the desired effect. I suspect all dealers in NI will be in that position. I suppose it's in their interest to seek to secure your future business too and offer a good deal this time.

F30 what are the details of your Mini Camden, give a bit of detail here and someone may be interested. If they aren't offering a decent trade in you may get a private sale or perhaps you could sell to another car dealer. If you are familiar with Autozone in Coleraine I have sold him a few cars in the past which has got me a few pounds more than trading in to the dealer I was buying from.

Have any of you tried Country Garage for a deal, would be interesting to see where they stand. JKC and Bavarian coming close to Broadspeed is a decent result although there are probably other BMW dealers on the mainland who would beat that. Plenty of guys have reported discounts of 17.5% upwards, its just a case of finding the dealer and then whether its worth the extra hassle of buying from afar, I personally like the service of a dealer on the doorstep who has to attend to any tiny squeaks and rattles because you bought the car from them but their price has to be within reason for me to go with them.

30 min phone call with JKC sales manager, very low offers of trade ins and all the usual run your car down chat of it needs 3 grand spent on it etc etc. Approx 10% offered on a high spec 335d Touring (49k list) , which doesn't seem anywhere near enough. Told him there were a lot more deals for him if they wanted to get them.

He did tell me he had been talking to a guy from Belfast who was quoting Broadspeed, wonder who that was :-)

It's been all go in here today lol. Yes the offer on the Mini from JKC was more of an insult, considering we bought it from them only 20months ago and got the whole spiel about future value, load of balls.

Davy - not a bad idea, i'll maybe give them a shout.

Both of you keep haggling. Haggle as if you are back in the showroom, looking to trade in the car your currently buying. :P

I seriously thinking about leasing a 330d instead of buying through PCP or the likes. Fixed cost motoring, no depreciation or resale value to worry about.

Andyers - Try Sytner Solihull.

I managed to get 12% off a 320d msport via email, definitely worth a go.

just looked again at my Prentice quote for a 335d, total OTR list was just shy of 53800 and the discount was just over 6k, so just over 11% (I thought it was better). The deal was better % wise on the 330d. The cost to change was just too high, I may try again in a few weeks or try my current car at some local dealers.
I have bought from England in the past without any issues.

V330.....might be a good time to give them a call, they seem really up for doing a deal. Bavarian won't budge on the £38,500...asked for servicing pack and supaguard but got a no. So prentice the last man standing....hopefully they can pull something out of the bag!

Whats the percentage discount Andy that Bavarian are offering you now. JKC now up to 14% for me. I did tell Andrew there were 3 or 4 guys ready to buy 335d or similar and if he got the prices right he could shift cars. Loads of chat about no point selling cars at a loss and that he had only spoken to one person which was obviously you Andy. Mentioned that person had talked about Broadspeed but they couldn't supply a car until June.

When can Bavarian get you a car? Is it a F30 or F31 you are wanting and whats the finance rate on PCP, they quoted me on 4.9% for an F31 but I thought it should be 3.9%.

And one thing to remember if trying English dealers is that Bavarian are now part of the Sytner group, means its unlikely their other group dealers will compete too hard against them. There are plenty of other dealer groups that may want to play ball.

And F30 yes they don't seem to mind insulting people with trade in values, they aim to buy in at rock bottom and try to justify how much they will have to spend to market the car. All a bit off putting that treatment for me to be honest as there has to be a bit of fair treatment if they seriously want to retain happy customers.

As I told them if I sell elsewhere then the world is open for me to buy a new car anywhere, he agreed and didn't seem overly concerned. Maybe some day they will be fighting for sales and need us a bit more.

That said after a long phone call we do seem to be understanding eachother a bit more and he is meant to be doing a bit of work on trade in values for my current cars because as I told him his offers were extremely insulting as they were less than We Buy Any Car who are the lowest of the low.
