Would wheels/tires size be affected by this? As in rolling diameter has to be within 1% for xdrive but doesnt matter on rwd.

I've been driving on 2wd mode in my F31 for over a year now, via ESYS FDL coding. Not done through your phone, but it's a money saving option.

It's basically for being foolish with the car and doing massive slides. It doesn't benefit you in any other way. For them to suggest you can use it as an alternative to repair is ridiculous.

Seems silly, your driving a rwd bmw with 1000 extra pounds because of the disable awd system.

It's about 250lbs, but point made.
It is silly. The diesels don't care as much for the extra weight, but the additional friction does add up.

If one would want to remove the front wheel hardware, you can remove axles, front differential, and front driveshaft.. however you'd need a cut axle stub to bolt in place of the axle end, because it holds the bearings together.

Wagons only made in xdrive config for the us is the reasoning there.

Care to go into detail on how to disable the AWD via FDL Coding?? First I've heard that this can be done via Esys.

33107555607
BMW M Performance limited-slip diff
TYP 188, I=3.15
M Performance Accessories

Part 33107555607 was found on the following vehicles:
3' F30   (04/2011 — 07/2015)
3' F31   (08/2011 — 06/2015)
4' F32   (11/2012 — 02/2017)
4' F33   (03/2013 — 02/2017)
4' F36 Gran Coupé   (07/2013 — 06/2016)

Has been tested by (2) forum members and the auto version diff definitely does NOT fit manual cars - the axles would need to be modified

I luv the way the car acts now Having driven RWD BMW's before - the best way to explain it is the car now drives like a RWD but with added grip of AWD. Most noticeable coming out of turns during 'spirited' driving
Hmm, interesting that you mention F36 GC xDrive because according to all places I've seen it, it doesn't list xDrive for F36 GC:

I didn't say F36 AWD specifically, stated includes xdrive models - normally this relates to F30 & F32 335ix & 435ix

True, but the AC's LSD I linked is specifically for that missing one.

I dont understand why F36 GC xDrive will not support OEM M-performance LSD as all other models basically support it

DSC > 3000 > C_Funktion_LaengsMomentVerteilung_aktiv_e > aktiv to nicht_aktiv

You will get a DSC fault for "Subfunction coded out", meaning that the DSC system is checking against the VCM for vehicle type, and finding out it was tricked.

However everything works fine as it should, and you still have all your modes available. The transfer case actuator will remain open.
There are a couple of ways to get the DSC to not have that error and check control message, but that's beyond the scope here. Any esys expert can take care of that, changing vehicle type, etc.

Then have some fun. I could have roasted the tires a bit more in place, but this was my dad's driveway. Permanently burned 11s not appreciated.

Also, the title of this thread is implying that there is something wrong with xDrive, and this is absolutely not true. It's a great upgrade over the previous generation system in terms of function and some reliability. It's not perfect (re: output flange), but closer to it than before.

Yes I am

It clearly lists the xdrive cars as in my post as being compatible on every site that sells them & realoem.com

In realoem the MPerf diff is under the retrofit/conversion/accessories section

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=03_1127

Plus the fact that I have a 435iX, just had the MPerf diff installed & it worx fine

Couple others with AWD have had them installed also with no problems

Remember, you can't believe everything people post on the internet - just because they post doesn't mean they have any idea what they are talking about...

It doesn't fit your xDrive or mine either. Car on invoice is an automatic, part number they attempted to install is #33108659989.

This logic is dumb. Will you say this to the new M5 owners who have this kind of toggle by default? Or the newer gen BMWs when it trickles down to all the models? No.

It just sounds like jealousy that you can't have the option of both, and now xdrive users can.

Rwd car will never be the same as x delete until the xdelete disconnect is at the front hubs. Even then it's still going to have extra weight, and different suspension options.
