what amps would one use this for and could you still maintain the center channel/phone calls?

Yes, it includes a center channel lead. Though it isn't necessary for phone calls. A lot of people use a JL Audio XD600/6 or Alpine PDX amps. I chose to not use the center channel and ran a JL Audio XD700/5v2 amp.

I'd like to buy it! any chance you could walk me through an amp selection though? I want to retain my center channel and the ability to have Bluetooth conversations through the idrive. I remember reading that it wasn't possible with certain amp setups. I was contemplating the match pp, but jl is also a good candidate. I'm not exactly an audiophile; just want better peak performance and lows (base) with a reasonable amount of adjustability. planning to install new under seat woofers, that would also be powered by this amp
