Warm weather window condensation

Hello Guys,

I live in South Florida and it is usually humid. Many mornings I go out to my car and the windows are fog up do to condensation on the outside of the glass. I can turn on the wipers to clear the windshield but the back window and mirrors take a while to defog. I usually put the rear defroster on but not the front since it makes the windshield worse. This happens quite often due to South Florida weather. Anyone have a solution for this other than letting the car warm up for 10 minutes?

Treating the windows with Aquapel may help. I'd also squeegee the windows.

You could try squeeging the windows and/or running them up and down and then driving right away, but you might need the windows to be air temp before the condensation would stop. I took chemistry too many years ago.

The source of the condensation is when the temperature of the window glass is at or below the dew point. I suggested Aquapel as it could make the condensation form larger drops rather than fogging. My windows are all treated, and I never get fogging, but the worst humidity I ever see in New Hampshire would be considered a comfortable day in Florida.

This happens to him when he goes out to the car in the morning. I doubt he left the engine running and AC on overnight.

It just means at night until 5 AM, the condition Is very cold and fog up the glass. It doesn't matter that is humid. This happened on tropical location. I have the same issue when I was in the Philippines.

Maybe OP can use the ventilation feature of the car in the morning.

I have the same issues where I live. It's the nature of the beast due to the weather conditions.

I am going to try coating the rear window to make the condensation bead differently and hopefully blow off once I start moving. I have a coating on my paint and at 30-ish MPH all the beads start to move and blow off. The car actually dries off faster than the glass!

My solution is I park in a garage.

I have tried several things and have found that like a good paint coating, anything that coats the windows and causes water to bead whether it is a short term solution (a week or so) or long term solution (months) helps a lot. As I joked above I do park in a garage, but I travel a lot and sometimes there is no garage, so sometimes I have the same condensation problem.

Only solution is to park inside, or treat the windows with Rain X or other glass coatings.

Or.... you move up north where I live where your car can get to -30F in the morning, but you need to scrape the frost off the glass instead. LOL

I have been experiencing similar effects here in South East Texas, close to the Gulf of Mexico, where it is always humid, even in the Winter. I was thinking it was a window/glass seal issue?

And FYI, the car is garaged nightly, and still occurs in the AM

If you get dew on the grass you'll get it on your glass.

Wonderful saying; that seems like one of those phrases that should go on a t-shirt.

We have the same issues right next door in Louisiana. I mean heck we didn't even have winter this year as we really just had a Fall/Spring (is that a Fring or a Sprall?). So there were many time this winter where there was lots of dew and of course condensation on any car left outside. The bonus of a warmish winter is it is good for some sports. My daughter plays high school soccer and they play after football season ends, so Nov-Feb and we really never needed to break out heavy jackets this year.

Some of us aren't that lucky.

I've tried a couple of glass treatments but they don't last. Guess I'll just have to deal with it. I'll take sweaty hot over cold freezing snow any day.
