HELP! I'm stuck between debadging my 2020 440i (model # badge) or getting a gloss black badge to replace the stock silver one (I have carbon fiber & gloss black accents) thank you!!!! P.S. my car is alpine white!

Are you referring to your model number badge? I'd personally just keep it stock but it depends on your style. I personally don't think black numbering looks very good. Debadging is usually much cleaner. Is this for your white car?

The black looks pretty cool.

On my F30, I had to replace my trunk after an accident and never put mine back on. Loved how it looked and left it that way because it looked more symmetrical. I was happy with it.

I have a G30 and did the same.

Yeah I'm referring to my alpine white car and the model # badge. I don't want people to think my car is a 428i, 430i or a 435i or even worse M4 for people who are clueless lol.

looks good man. I debadged my previous car (F30 as well). Some reason I'm not wanting to debadge this yet, maybe I'll go with the gloss black badge and then debadge when I'm tired of it.

Just a thought...

Either way you go- you'll need to debadge first - so give that a shot and see what you think. :-)

Meaning if you're leaning towards going gloss black you'll need to remove your existing badges anyway (and you'll be debaged) then you can decide if you want to put a black badge back on or leave it off

ps- I vote for black (but I'm not against debading)

I debadged my car, but if I owned a 440i I wouldn't because like others said it's the top of the line.

Unless you want to be a bit of a sleeper and mess with people.

If you're to go this route, I recommend taking photos and measurements of the existing badge's position before debadging so that if you later decide to go gloss black, you'll know how and where the new badge should go to, without you having to search for such information (or worse )

The black is too much, the white is too little, the chrome is just right.

On a white car with black accents, I think blacked out badge would look pretty cool. I agree the shiny chrome can be a bit much on certain cars. Not a fan of debadging

So to some it up. Go with chrome, no go with black. Debadge, no don’t debadge. Decide what works for you.

I personally debadged my 440i xDrive. My car is black so I did have some ghosting that I had to polish out. I considered putting gloss emblems on it but I loved the way it looked without a badge so I kept it that way

I really despise badges. The easy answer for me is de-badge it!

I de-badged my F32 before I even had a chance to wash it.

I debadged both my F30's and really enjoy the symmetry and clean look. But each to their own.

I've been thinking of removing the 3 and 4 from my 340i badge so it just says "Oi" which is how I've been feeling.

Could you try that first and let me know how folks react before I do mine?

(I'd say leave it as is. Still discrete in silver...and you shouldn't hide your b58, unless you're worried about theft, which I'd understand. If I was heading into NYC more often, I might remove mine.)

Debadge. Everyone knows what you drive and you won't have to worry about those pesky badges catching on your car wash mitt!

Personally I think its a small change either way. I think taking that time and really detailing and polishing the car will get you more bang for the time spent.
