I wouldn't pay more than ~150-175. Any decent shop can do it in under 2 hours

I was charged for 1.25 hrs. by a shop that hadn't replaced one on an F30 before.

I'll be installing an upgraded CP next weekend. I've heard you guys mention the factory clips are a PITA to work with. Should I have some spares on hand before performing this job?

Thanks.

My pipe blew during a hard pull last week. Right on the throttle body connection like the original thread picture. Luckily I was able to limp it home and then to the dealership a couple days later. I've been using a JB4 with map 1 for 2 months now. Just squeezed it in under warranty with 49,100 miles on the odo. Getting a free rear brake job too!

Coming from F26 X4 section. Had this happened to my X4 35i running JB+. Its a broken c clip, maybe the pipe is broken underneath, I didn't have time to look under. Car at dealer and will be replaced by warranty.

Any one know If there is an aftermarket charge pipe that would fit my X4.?

Hi all, mine blew off for the first time which was a shock when it happened.

Anyway to get the car to the dealer, will I damage the car by driving it? Should I tape it up.

This thread is both interesting and worrying. My 2013 6MT RWD N55 F31 (yes, it's a rare variant) is now 3.5 years old and has clocked up just over 60,000km. I'm keen to install the ER CP but wanted to know whether RHD versions might be different from LHD cars. Nothing has happened to mine (yet), but I'd like to be prepared.

@Mike, do you ship to New Zealand?

mine just burst after a little pull, loud boom (like a popcorn bag in the microwave boom), pulled over...gave it a look..and drive slowly back home.

gotta clear the codes from the jb4 and let warranty cover it.

Do they just replace it with the same exact CP, or is it better material?

I don't know of any OEM design enhancements. Would recommend Aftermarket. I have ER on the N20 and no complaints. Install was definitely made easy having a lift, it would be hard not having that space.

Spend the cash and get an aftermarket metal CP and have that put on in place of the OEM plastic part or expect it will happen again at some point.

yeah, but i doubt the warranty will still be intact. Probably will do the CP mod later when I put down pipes.

On a scale of 1-10, without a lift..how difficult is it to change the CP.

Just to update everyone, i am going with the chrome polished finish with the ER CP.

All other choices seems just as great, but personally i am not fond of the another black pipe. (get your dirty minds out of the gutter).
