Helicopter Charter

This is something I have not done before in the UK and have been tasked with sorting it for the boss.

I know there are some of you in the know on here, so before I start making my own enquiries on Monday I thought I would ask here first.
(Forgive me if any of my questions sound dumb.)

Need a helicopter for two people from London to Lisbon on the 26th of this month.
Flying back on the 28th.

Is a direct flight possible from around the London / Essex border?

What sort of price range should we be expecting?

Any one you can recommend we use?

TIA

Why a helicopter and not a plane? Typical charter Helicopters only go around a few hundred miles, unless you're talking the big ones used on the North Sea.

And they're slow- 200mph give or take.

Direct flight in a heli would be fucking expensive and would require a couple of refuels en route and would take a year and a day. Better to charter a small twin fixed wing (Biggin Hill, Northolt etc).

I'd more than happily do the job but at £34,000/hr for my heli, it could be a tad pricey

I couldn't advise which fixed wing charter to go with as planks are the work of the devil. But possibly check out the airfields I've mentioned and see what they can offer.

A commercial flight between London and Lisbon takes 2-2.5 hours, so you're better off chartering a biz-jet than a helicopter.

Air Harrods are based at Stansted.

Use netjets

Stobarts have a jet centre at Southend airport for private charters.

Hope their pilots are better than some of their HGV drivers.

£34K an hour?!

For that kind of money I would want you sucking my dick as well!

We chartered a jet for 6 people a couple of years ago through Harrods which took us from Stanstead to Dubai.
Once in Dubai a helicopter took us from the airport to the helipads on the Burj.
That cost £40k all in return!

Because at the time of travel the bosses wife will be very heavily pregnant and they are thinking along the lines of a helicopter can be landed pretty much anywhere.

After discussing it with him this morning it looks like they probably will not chance it and will go at a later date.

Thank you for the info.

We have used Harrods Aviation before, however as mentioned due to his wife being very heavily pregnant it looks like this journey will have to be postponed or he will have to go himself.

On the plus side, he did say if he has to go alone I can just book him an Easyjet!

Well his (the boss) wife is pregnant, so likely Andy comes in handy.
