****ing Bridgestone Potenza RFTs
My new 4GC arrived shod with these, unfortunately.
My question to those who have persevered with them is, Do they improve with wear? If not, then I will have to pay out to replace them as I'm not sure I'll be able to tolerate the tyre roar and unsettled ride at speed

Remove them at about the 6 month mark, but regular tires and put the runflats back on at the end of the lease
That is if you leased. I realize it is unclear from your post

You don't mention the exact Potenza: Do you mean RE970AS? S001? What?
You also don't mention the size. 1) All performance summer tires are noisier than all-seasons. 2) All performance summer tires usually are noisier than all-seasons. 3) If you compare apples to apples, ie an OEM summer RFT to the corresponding go-flat, the performance is quite close, within 1%-2%. Although RFT's are a bit noisier. 4) Many are comparing the OEM RFT to the latest version of the go-flat. For instance, Michelin Pilot PS2 ZP (RFT) to Michelin Pilot Super Sport (or PS4) go-flat is not a fair comparison. FYI, The OEM Potenza RE050A RFT on my 2010 lasted a bit over 20K miles. |

I have the S001 tires and they perform pretty well. I'm glad I got them over the all-seasons. But i have 18s so maybe some more comfort there.
What do you mean by unsettled ride? |

The CPO 435i came with those exact same tyres. Took them off asap and sold them to get a set of Mich PS4S, though note i live in warm climate so never need snow/cold weather rubber. We must remember the suspension includes the tire sidewall flexibility, and the RFTs have very little of that. On the wife's 2013 X1 the RFT work and feel fine, yet on the 2014 435i with 704 suspension i didn't like it one bit. RFTs are a compromise in handling, compromises maximum grip potential, etc. compared to 'the best' tires available today.
Sell RFT ASAP for something with a less stiff sidewall.

I had S001s till they were worn out and they never improved, they are noisy and rough, especially on a sportier car like the 4series, far worse if your suspension is lower. I tossed them and got regular radial tires and ride is so much better.

So, I'll need to sell the Bridgestones if I replace, which I want to very much - but who the hell is going to buy a set of tyres which are this bad?!

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's are the best RFT's I've driven. Nothing beats a regular tyre, however, as you say
