I don't doubt what you've said at all, even less so now that you said Bryan was involved. Sounds like GPlus sent you the wrong shit.

Sorry for the delay, last weekends weather was horrific, but first thing tomorrow morning I will be completing this install, as well as logging. I plan so upload a DIY video for it, and will share as soon as possible. Will also see if my CTS TURBO CPs will fit the intercooler later tonight and post back as well. |

My CTS Turbo CP fit perfectly, here is a snapshot.
Here's also a video. Little bit of wiggle but of course I don't have the c clip installed on it, will be reusing the ones from the original chargepipe as I only have 30k miles on the car. |

Attached are photos of the intercooler. It's really well made, I think they just sent me the wrong part.

B58 has a water-to-air intercooler, this is an air-to-air intercooler.
It would work on an N55, but 100% will not work on a B58, completely different design.

Alright everyone, finally finished the install and logs. Unfortunately for some reason BM3 didn't log before the install. Today in Boston temperature was about 62 degrees Fahrenheit, at about 49% humidity. Before the install, I did a few runs and my average IAT was between 121-127 at around 10 AM.
Started the install around 1 PM after allowing the engine to cool down, and completed the install at about 3 PM. I did a few runs around 5 where outside temperature was still at 60 degrees Fahrenheit, and still at 47% humidity. Did an initial a few runs and IAT was between 73-79. Boost levels were relatively the same, around 7, but I was running stock tune. IAT stayed at around low 70s the entire time. Here is a short log in 3rd gear at 3500 rpms to 6500 rpms. http://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5ca93145ae729b588c05a470 Now about the install, which was fairly easy. Took about 2 hours, did it in my driveway with a jack and stands. I also installed a CTS Turbo Chargepipe along with the FMIC. Both fit perfectly, no leaks, and the black really compliments my mineral grey car. If anyone needs help or suggestions, feel free to email me and I can give you some tips/info. I can safely recommend this FMIC to anyone whose on a budget. It is well worth the $200. Update: Went out for a drive to do some more runs, temperature outside was about 55, humidity was at 47%. I flashed BM3 OTS stage 1 tune 93. Did a few decent runs, IAT still in the lower 70s even made it to the upper 60s on a few. Boost levels were at about 11-12. Very satisfied at how this intercooler can keep up, and maintain good numbers. Very impressed. Can't wait to get catless DP and 1 step colder NGK plugs gapped at 22, and run a stage 2 93 agg tune. Here are a few photos. |

@akf30 great job. Thanks for the details on performance as well.
Hopefully the original design is performing similar for me! |

Was going to do the install yesterday, but ran out of time. Instead just installed the FTP turbo inlet. Really good thing too, since the flange that allows the bolt to hold the inlet onto the turbo had cracked in half on the OEM plastic part. The replacement part felt tank-like in comparison and I can report a bit clearer sound from the turbo and definitely a modest bump in low-rpm torque. Really happy, easy install, and most of all worth the piece of mind.

Did anyone notice a hit in MPG after installing this? I saw mine go down on a similar road trip? Overall I love the install and am not regretting any bit of it but just want to make sure it's normal.
I am coming up on needing new spark plugs and figured i would swap coils at the same time so that could be playing into it but just wanted to see what everyone else noticed |

its back in stock. I just installed mine, took longer to jack up the car than swap the part.
the key is to pull on the fan shroud toward the back of the car (there is a lot of flex) to allow the fmic to slide in easily. |

The listing also says it fits "Bmw 3 Series F30 / F31 / F34 316i , 320i , 328 , 335 (2011+ )." The B58 car is a 340i.

Does anyone know how to source one of these in europe? Seems like every vendor i can find wont deliver to europe, and i dont feel like spending $800-1000 on an FMIC when i can get a good quality generic FMIC from Mishimoto for half that price locally...
Model specific bolt on is preferred, so im still hoping i can get one!
