Hello BMW Experts!

Has anyone put in these correction hubs to get a little front camber, instead of using the F80 LCA?

- I imagine the hubs come with wheel bearings. True?
- Why do the hubs have different names, ie: "Carrier" (stock), "Pivot Bearing" (correction, left), "Swivel Bearing" (correction, right)?

I have both the F80 LCAs and the camber correction hubs on my F30 335i RWD.

The hubs do not come with wheel bearings but if you have some decent mileage on your original bears it might not be a bad time just to replace it while you're in there.

As for the different names, just make sure it says "-30min" so you'll get more negative camber.

One thing to keep in mind about camber correction hubs is that it will change the angle of the wheel in relation to the strut so the inner edge of the tire will be slightly closer to the strut. Camber plates don't change that relative angle, however, camber plates aren't as good for daily driving compared to camber correction hubs.

Yes, with the bearings coming in that big hub assembly, maybe my old bearings can be used. I was thinking hammer out the bearing, then the race....
New hub/bearings are ~$100. - $200. ea.

I did the work myself.

I didn't bother to separate the old bearings from the old hub assembly. But it basically bolts to the hub assembly. An air chisel should be able to separate that pretty quickly.

I went the camber plate route on my daily driven M240i no issues drives 70 miles every day. That being said I would highly recommend you put in new bearings, not worth the little bit of $$$ saved to have to redo it if you experience bearing failure.

I wonder why BMW makes camber correction hubs that induce additional positive camber? Along with the correction hubs, -30 min, there are ones offered for +30 min. Weird.........would it be for cars that are lowered big time?

I could have sworn that I used SKF bearings when I did mine because they were substantially less expensive than BMW bearings, but that doesn't seem to be the case right now.

Perhaps for the weirdos that want to install an aftermarket offroad lift kit on their BMWs. No idea.

They're for the folks in collision repair who have bent subframe mounting points to deal with but the insurance company wouldn't pay out to pull the motor to fix it at the source.

How much effort is this DIY? It looks like alot.

It's not too bad. If you've done the suspension before, you can easily do this.
