Clock and trip odometer reset each time car starts

Hello, I own a 2015 328i and recently got my car battery replaced and registered. An issue I am experiencing with my car now is that every time it is turned on after being off for more than 5 mins, the trip odometer resets to 000.0 and the time resets to —:—.
Any ideas on what might be causing this? Thanks for your help.

I'm not a mechanic but it sounds like a battery issue. The clock getting reset is what happens when I disconnect my negative battery terminal to do work on the car
