Are these LEDs need soldering or just inserting in to the slots
Quote:
Could you please tell me if these LEDs can be fitted to my 2012 320d ed vehicle? It has got an extended 6WA tachometer/speedometer? Also, I have got a problem with the daytime tacho illumination (white illumination) which has gone off (turned off) 3 days ago. It was working during the day on the 11the of September. In the evening about 9; 00 pm. I drove to my workplace - obviously, during the night it illuminates as the orange color. So on way to the workplace iI did not see any difference. But When I finished my night shift (since I work as a Night shift Pharmacist); in the morning about 8; 00 am When I turned the ignition on The white illumination of the Speedometer, rev counter, fuel gauge and temperature gauge have gone or turned off for an unknown reason. Also, the figures (numbers on these gauges don't illuminate. All other information; i.e. The temperature, clock, date, and fuels to empty miles or kilometers are shown as illuminated? According to your knowledge, what could be the problem? It looks like you have got great experience in the filed? Initially, I thought that the issue might be the fuse? But again if it is the fuse problem; Orange color illumination during the night could be gone off/turned off too? Am I right? Or is there a specific separate fuse for the daytime white illumination; If so what is the fuse number? I checked the Paper diagram inserted behind the fuse box but I could not see any fuse related to the Tachometer/speedometer daytime illumination? Your quick reply on this matter highly appreciated? Regards Maz |

Hello in my opinion you have one or two LEDs that are poorly soldered on the meter circuit board |

Hi david51. Amazing build on your f30, and your m235i looks amazing!
I have m140i 2018my lci2, with manual non heated leather seats. I have just bought 4 series F36 gran coupe full electric memory heated seats. WIll this be possible to retrofit correctly with everything working correct heating memory function lumbar etc? Do i need to swap over the airbags or just the pretensioners? The driver side seat has the white module box, but on passenger side only the smaller black module. My friend says on his elec memory seats that both have white module box. will this be a problem? Kind regards

Hello Yes it's possible just add the cables, buy the air conditioning console with the heated buttons. for the airbag, you can leave them for the moment but if there is an error you will have to submit yours. For the white module on the driver's side, keep your original |

Hi david51 , I currently have my speedmeter disassembled to change the orange LEDs to white, but the LED area under the km / h needle I do not know how to disassemble it, it is the area on the right, it seems that there is a plastic fused to the needle and I am afraid to break it, I have seen that in another forum you have uploaded this image, could you tell me how this piece is disassembled? it's the black / transparent piece
Thank you |

Hi David, beautiful car, beautiful interior! My project now is also to change the lights exactly like you did. I see you have changed almost everything, also the door lock button, the airco control panel, the gearknob, all the buttons like sport mode, idrive controller and so on. Can I ask you 1 favour please? Can you maybe make a list with all the different kind of LEDS I need for all these places? Because im also going to change every orange LED to the white and blue like you did. But im not sure which LEDS I need. I would appreciate it very much

Nice thank you for the quick response! So actually only 2 different type of LEDs in the car, the 1206 and the 3528. So I'll buy the 1206 white and blue colours, and only white 3528.
But I see you have the CD insert place, and volume button also blue colour. Is that also 1206 blue LED. And also the foot lights, iDrive button, all blue, but also 1206 blue? And all the small buttons, like steeringwheel, windows, doorlock button, is all 1206 white yes? |

For the steering wheel controls they are even smaller you need the 0603 models https://www.ebay.fr/itm/Lot-de-10-pc...-/253428065877 Last edited by david51; 08-17-2020 at 05:47 PM.. |

David, thanks for all the information on the LEDs. I started out doing the most difficult ones in my eyes, the center airco panel and radio. I messed up the ambient light around the airco, the LEDs dont work there anymore, I need to recheck. Here is a picture of work in progress.
https://ibb.co/ZHNVWCz I miss 1 thing, the 3528 LED, but the blue version. We need this for the footlights. Do you have any link, the brightest one you buy maybe? I found one is 1400 mcd blue. THIS ONE You think this LED will work, or you buy another one? I appreciate it, thanks! |
