Charge pipe worth the gains??

Hey guys, I have been debating getting a charge pipe for quite some time now. I've got a 14 335xi with ER cat less DP, aFe Stage 2 intake, resonator delete, MPE, and JB4. (that's all on the drivetrain side)

My dilemma now is whether or not a CP would be worth the money I'd be putting into it (~400 for the pipe and ~150 for install). I'd really hope that I would have some measurable or tangible difference in performance.

FYI, I just started running my JB4 on Map 2 since I finally found 94 octane last week.

Any input helps!

There are no gains. Its a safety part. The stock ones are known to blow, so the aftermarket ones are metal instead of shitty plastic.

You would be hard pressed to show any gains from the charge pipe. Its more of an upgrade to do when you raise the boost as the stock CP is prone to failure, even under stock boost levels.

Seriously? On a stock car? Can you get damage to the car if that goes or is it just the pain of replacing it?

You have no boost if it goes, and the motor will be breathing unfiltered air. Plus air isn't metered and will throw a CEL.

Your stock charge pipe will fail sooner or later and you will then have to wait 3-4 days for a new one to be shipped out to you.
I say just replace it and forget about it.

How hard is it to replace the charge pipe? Seems like it would be a pain without a lift

All I used were my Race Ramps, its a pain in the ass install if its on a lift anyways. But it wasnt worth me paying $150 install either. Ive actually installed everything on my car myself, using Race Ramps, except for the Pure Stage 2 because a lift is necessary for that.

GET RID OF THE STOCK CHARGE PIPE. Its junk. I also replaced the inlet charge pipe just so it would match really lol. Im also pushing 22+ psi so I wasnt taking any chances.

If you are running over stock boost, you will need more than one spare

We get so many requests for overnight shipping on charge pipes cause they fail when you least expect it and your car is down.

Excuse my noob question.

If the factory charge pipe craps out within the warranty will it be covered.

Also, if you change charge pipe to an aftermarket will it void the warranty?

Thanks in advance.

One of my friend just blow CP a week ago. The only mod is MP exhaust, not any piggy back software like JB4.
He got denied by the BMW Taiwan for warranty cover due to his mod of MP logo display on NBT. They are willing to replace a new one for him only if he return everything back to "OEM".
It seems ridiculous that what is the connection between charge pipe and MP logo. However, this is how BMW trying to get away from any claims.

Yes stock charge pipe should be covered under warranty but it will be replaced with the same crappy design

I have never heard of any warranty issues with an aftermarket charge pipe.

Just added the ER Charge pipe to my car about 3 weeks ago and I have to say, the performance/feel of the car in sport mode has improved greatly. The stock pipe must be leaky by it's cheap, shitty plastic nature. The acceleration feels tighter and the car feels likes it's holding boost better. A brake-boosted launch feels amazing now, borderline scary even. I just have full JB4, MPE and a drop in air filter installed, nothing too crazy. And Thanks to Mike at N54 Tuning for getting me my parts quickly and hassle free.

Well, it maybe different there, but in America, that's definitely illegal for them to deny warranty coverage. That sucks.
