so id love to have 19's with 245/40/r19 front and rear (xdrive). I want as much sidewall as possible to make the ride comfortable and to give me as much of a warning against rim damage as i can get.
is 40 too big on a 435 with 19's? Ok ok I was looking at my car this morning and I think 18 isn't terrible either lol. I guess in that note is 245 /45 too wide? |

40 is too tall at 245 as it makes it 26.7" tall. I am currently running 235/40/19 and they are 26.3 compared to the stock 26 and its enough. They look meaty to me and provide rim protection. Alternatively you could go wider as some members are running 255s square on 8.5" rims

yes. exactly. 255/35/19 is 26.03" tall. Going to a 245/35/19 is more in line with the e9x platform and there are members here who do it to tuck tire or make the car lower. Those would be 25.75" tall but would give less sidewall and more wheel well gap. I run 235/45/18 on winter tires square and love the look and those are also 26.33" tall

here is 245/40/19. although @haywood187 has no issues, i have read a small percentage of posts where the outer shoulder rubbed the fenderwell liner while turning for some. the cause may have been offset, broad tire shoulder, variance in each cars build or combination. running taller heavier tires slows your acceleration as well, albeit very slightly. i find the look too beefy and approaching "rally cross'ish", from some angles. personally, i try to stay at or near the factory diameter and feel if you want more sidewall run a smaller diameter wheel with tire appropriately sized tires. but in the end, to each everyone's own... |

Unpopular opinion but I miss big tires. They rode great and if you hit the curb you didn't go through the 7 stages of grief. You just slapped on some tire shine and GG. Do low profile tires on 19s or 20s look great? Sure, but life happens.

255/35/19 is 10mm oversize on 8.5 and will provide more lateral protection if you're using the tires as feelers.

These look super clean!
Can anyone help me and give me some options for staggered 19x8.5 fronts and 19x9.5 rears both offset are 35. Not sure what size tires I should get. |
