Tinted rear windshield - dot matrix

Hello!

For those of you with tinted windows, can you post a picture of the rear windshield? Id like to see how the edges/dot matrix area looks.

Im not very happy with mine and am considering getting it redone, but not sure if the marginal improvement will be worth it.

Thanks!

How long ago did you get it tinted? I can post mine tomorrow because it's almost dark out now.

It was tinted maybe 2 years ago - But I've never been 100% happy with it. After they tinted it, there were bubbles on all windows so I had them re-tint it.
However, they didn't re-tint the rear windshield - maybe because of the risk with the defroster lines.

My car is too dirty right now to take decent pics - I'm taking it in for servicing tomorrow so I'll take pics the next day (after it's washed).

Odds are it's probably normal.

insanecoder posted what lots of people do as solutions. I'd add "just get used to it" to the list. It's insanely hard to make tint adhere around the dot matrix

I read a thread saying that the majority of the places just don't or can't tint the dot matrix out.

Some don't because they say the glue will fail and it'll look worse. Others say thats how the dot matrix is.

Some sand the dots down, which I personally would not allow. I can live with the dot matrix

Im okay with it not sticking to the dot matrix - its the un-evenness around the dot matrix that bugs me

When I had mine done I made sure for the next few days while it cured to keep pressing the tint where the dot matrix was to even it out. Worked great and it's hardly noticeable

That's pretty bad, probably indicating cheap tint. High quality tints correctly applied look a lot better than that.
