Wink Rear camera malfunction

I get "rear camera malfunction" on the dash even though the camera view comes on when going into reverse and works with no issues. I have one rear camera only.

Any ideas?

I recently had mppsk fitted by BMW and also had a brand new battery installed one day ago.

I don't have warranty either.

can anyone provide guidance on checking connections? Or recalibrating/coding?

As is the case with some 99% of error warnings the first step is to use an OBD diagnostic tool and code reader to see what the problem is. Or pay your dealer an outrageous fee to do it for you.

Luckily I still have warranty....

Took it to BMW, they first tried updating some software, came home and same issue persisted.

Took it back to them again, and they ended up replacing the actual camera.

Service guy told me it if came out of my own pocket, everything would have cost me around £1500 ($1942)!!!!!

No surprise there. The BMW camera runs around $450, even though it's essentially the same as a generic camera that costs $45.
