Slightly off topic - 1/18 BMW B4 Alpina

Not sure how many collect other stuff but I took delivery of an excellent 1/18 BMW B4 Alpina model made by GT Spirit not too long ago. Phenomenal quality and a glass like paint finish. This particular one is a limited edition but they also do a white 435i with full M kit plus a load of other BMWs. EBay usually has a good selection too.

They got the idea from the M Class (post removal of guns), worlds first Submarine carrier lol.

Although would have been nice if further developed with guns (bit like Surcouf)

Yep. When I was doing research prior to building the I-400, it was an incredible piece of engineering as was most of the large Japanese sub programme. I think they were leagues ahead of the USA, UK and Germany in a lot of aspects. To build and aircraft carrying 400' long sub has to be impressive!

I attended a lecture on Japanese Navy during WW1 and WW2, the British and Americans helped them develop a lot of their early stuff.

If the Japanese had of made more use of their long lance torps and submarines, rather than fleet to fleet action, things may have lasted much longer.

Fucking hell, how old are you?!? (maybe just the way I read that)

Yes very much so. For an supposed offensive fleet, they didnt really exploit it and as you say, I think that was a part of the failure.

Lol fucking ancient

Btw I-58 sank the Indianapolis.

http://www.combinedfleet.com/I-58.htm

The entire saga of its sinking and after effects for its commander prove just how much you can be fucked over.

I like that a lot (quad pipes noted too )

Got me thinking that I would hunt down a F36 model, but only available in 1:43 - still toying with getting one though.

As for your F1 Ferrari wall, Saturn and sub....stunning

Yeah that Ferrari wall is incredible man, let alone the Apollo next to it!

In regards to BMW Miniatures I've got a list of every model currently available if anybody is interested? I'll find a way to upload it and link it if necessary.
