No, there aren't many F31s. I've seen maybe a half dozen or so, with half being M Sport.

Check out the BMW Club of Ottawa site, which has a link to the official page.

There is also a Facebook group. Tailors mainly to younger crowd with Friday night meets. I don't go to these often as I don't live in town.

Thanks, requested to join both.

I'm leasing, so not much room for mods on my car but I do like to admire those who can do it. Especially when done with class like yours.

There are plenty of people that mod with a lease. You just need to account for the cost to switch back to original parts prior to turning it in. If there something you want to do, don't let that stop you. Its your car for the time being, you should enjoy it to the fullest.

Nice coming back to this thread. I like the unpainted M performance parts, I have also kept the rear M performance diffuser unpainted on my F10.

One question about the BBS winters. How easy is it to keep the satin finish clean compared to a normal gloss wheel finish?

Thanks. As for the satin finish, I haven't found it difficult to clean them. They get cleaned off pretty well in just a touchless wash.

These are the best pics I have for comparison.

Ouch!
Let me guess: New transfer gear box?
Always a weak spot with xDrive models. Especially with staggered tire setup.

Yes under warranty, but I don't have details yet as to what happened.

I started getting a hesitation under moderate acceleration from a stop or low speeds at lower rpm a few weeks ago. While waiting for my appointment, I was able to isolate it to around 1500rpm under load and if I maintained the 1500, it would get to almost bucking/jerking. Was able to avoid it by driving in sport mode since it kept the rpm higher.

Didn't think it would be a full tranny replacement though. Have mixed feelings about it, but need to get more details.

Oh man sorry...hopefully everything will be ok.

It is interesting though...it seems that these cars have an issue between 1500-2000 rpm (40-50mph) under load. On car after I changed to the 335 muffler, I can definitely feel a vibration at these RPMs and there is a booming sound in my cabin. I wonder if this is what you are experiencing but obviously only worse.

I had a tranny replaced on my old Toyota Solara DD. The good news is it ran great until I sold it at 210K miles. I hope everything works out.

Not sure yet. Will find out when I pick up the car.

Thanks. Not really concerned yet. Would like details on it so if it is due to what Dante said, I'll think about changing things up to prevent another issue just after my warranty runs out. I didn't feel anything off at that rpm prior to the last week of October.

What I can say from a forum readers point of view (never owned an xDrive BMW myself) and the experiences of friends with xDrive cars is the following:
- xDrive cars seem to have a weak spot, which is the transfer gear box. And that is independent of the transmission type, manual or automatic.
- lowering xDrive cars seems to add to the problem
- using staggered tire setups seems to be the core of the problem. Especially if the tire circumference differs between front and rear. The bigger the difference the worse.
- whats interesting about this is that xDrive cars with M-Sport package come with staggered setup from factory.

So I'm curious what the problem is with your car. I really hope its only a minor issue.

Combination of reasons. Looking at an SQ5 which will go to my wife when the next S4/RS4s come over.

Look on the bright side, some quality parts in excellent condition like my BBS LMs.
