Beautiful look on the car, and awesome project that came to fruition. Not gonna lie, makes me wish I bought 19 inch wheels instead of 18 so that I can do that, currently fighting my inner demons off so I dont spend more money !

I used to run OEM 513m wheels. I sold them specifically to make this big brake project work!

Worth it…… not that you probably want to hear that! 🤪

lol maaaan don't tempt me. I just bought some apex 18inch VS-5RS a few months ago, so I gotta wait. Maybe if I can find someone to do a swap with for some 19's in the same finish I would consider. Again, looks great!

Wouldn't it be easier to get the F87 M2 Competition brakes and be done?

The rears are all M2 Competition parts, minus the OEM brackets, as they don't work with F3x - so instead they are fitted with custom steel brackets to suit F3x hubs.

The fronts are F10 M5 calipers rather than F87 M2 2NH, purely because of parts availability on the used market.

Prior to developing the front brackets I had a set of F10 M5 calipers and F8x CCB calipers (same as F87 2NH) in hand. The two caliper housings are identical except for a 5mm mounting height difference on the CCB. Its easy to go onto eBay at any one point in time and find multiple F10 M5 caliper sets, whereas M2 2NH or F8x CCB are super rare on the used market (unlike in the USA, M2 Competition cars in the UK did not come as standard with the 2NH brake upgrade). For this reason, I went with the F10 M5 calipers on the front.

It makes no difference on F3x anyway as you cannot use the OEM bracket from the F8x CCB or M2 2NH - so ether way a custom bracket is needed and it made sense to go with the most readily available caliper as a starting point!

Front discs and pads are obviously M2 2NH too.

So M2 carbon ceramic calipers will not work for the front?

CCB calipers will not work with these brackets, no. The brackets would need material removed from the mounting point, where it bolts to the caliper to allow the fitment of CCB calipers on F3x.

The gold CCB / M2 grey 2NH caliper has a 5mm additional stand off built into the caliper casting when compared to the blue F10 M5.

Very rare to find an M2 with CCB - however it's a moot point anyway since the gold CCB and grey M2 2NH are the same.

I see what you mean about the mounting being off. Foreman gave me m2 CCB front calipers. Stock m2 bracket bolts up fine but i see where the issue is. Is there anyone that makes a bracket for this or possibly anyone ever taken material off the caliper to bring it closer to the hub.

If you intend to use OEM brackets (as fitted to 2NH / CCB) then you’ll need to add spacers at both the caliper mounting surface and also at the hub mounting surface. Would not recommend this option.

Do it once, do it right.

Hub geometry between F8x and F3x is totally different.
